Euro CS Cigar club

Firstly id like to thanks Neoflex for the inspriation for this post-he suggested a sort of cigar club for CS but i thought it would not be possible for Euro gorillas to be involved [see origianl post for why]. I hope you [neoflex] dont mind if the euro gorillas go ahead and make one!

Therefore, i propose a Euro CS cigar club open to anybody outside the US [because it will prob involve ISOMs] but especially anyone in Europe.

The idea is that every week/month [to be decided on] a cigar will be nominated, perhaps in turns, by meembers of the club for everyone to try. a vendor etc may aso be suggested to help people. All members will then get the cigar, smoke it and meet up at a certain time to discuss the cigar. Idea is much like a book club but with more cigars and less books for anyone who knows about book clubs. Cigars would be limited to a price perhaps so that anyone can be involved [even us students] but other than that, so long as the cigar is readily available in Europe, any cigar can be nominated. Also, membership is not compulsory so if you dont want to do one cigar etc you dont have to!

So far i know Chris [Caskwith], Paul [Fireman_UK] and Zenistar are interested. Any suggestions and any prospective members please post!

Hi Baric thanks for organising this, count me in and I look forward to the comparisons.

On the subject of cost and students etc perhaps not being able to afford things, I'm sure we can work something out.

Yeah, cost shouldnt be too bad, its just it can be an issue in the UK due to our taxes on tobacco running at around 300-400% of true price. perhaps any interested UK BOTLs can combine and buy a couple of 3 packs or something. thanks for the response though Zenistar-any idea of how often youd be interested in doing this-every week, fortnight or month perhaps?

Thanks for doing this, David. I'm definitely in and I seriously can't wait!
I think fortnightly sounds like a good idea, however I would be up for weekly, monthly or anything.

Re: Euro CS Cigar club

I agree-fortnightly would be good-weekly would be too much of a drain on our pockets, monthly too long a wait. Heres what im thinking, we take it in turns each Saturday to nominate a cigar which we will then aquire to smoke and report on for the following saturday, in the cigar lounge on a dedicated thread. i think the UK gorillas should perhaps order a three pack or two online in order to avoid our taxes, but just an idea.

You GO guys (snap snap).... Good going. I am green with envy. It would be nice being able to openly sample, and discuss Cuban cigars in that fashion.

Sounds great David. I can't wait to start trying cigars that I would never usually have tried.
