Those with wine Coolers

Hey guys...

Been looking around for a wine cooler as opposed to a 4th Humi and had a few questions that could seem rather idiotic...but here goes...

All the wine coolers I can get only go to a maximum of 18C...
Is this okay to age cigars long term?
Do you guys run the cooling system or just place it in cold place and use the cooler as a giant non working box?

Also, is it better to get a cooler that can already regulate humidity or put in my own beads, floral foam etc?

Thanx

Have you read through the sticky (Edisonbird) in the Accessories Forum? Lots of detail there and prob'ly a better place to carry on with this.

Re: Those with wine Coolers

-If you'er going to use the refrigeration unit in the cooler, you're likely to run into RH problems.
-18* is great for long-term aging.
-I wouldn't know, because I tore all the refrig. crap out and use it as a large box to store smokes in . Provided you can keep it somewhere constantly below 70*, I'd do the same.(leave the equip as-is if you're not sure)
-Again, if you need the refrig. portion of the cooler, you're likely headed for some misery figuring out your RH. If at all possible, don't even plug it in, and use beads to moderate your RH.

Hope this helps!

Every time I see a thread on wine coolers I think its about some fruity girly drink with aluminum foil around the neck.
