Re: Stocking a large humidor

A humidor with a few good sticks is a happier one than a humi full of crapola. Take your time and ease into it with things you know you like. There are a few "safe" bundles and reliable, inexpensive smokes out there, but you risk having a humi loaded with stuff you won't like a few months from now if you just shop on price. Tastes change... move at the speed of of silly putty on your fill-er-up decision.

(I am certain many here have lots of cigars we bought, forgot why, and would love for you to have them. You don't want to be there in six months, do you? Of course not. Having said that, I like several inexpensive smokes today as much as the first time I tried them - including the Flor D'Oliva maduro bundles and Sancho Panza Double Maduro boxes.)

The Originals are great value for money. IMO they're much better than the FdO Gold's, even though they are less expensive.

A couple of things:
1) do not go hog wild and fill it with crap smokes just to fill it
2) do a search in the non-habano forum for bundled cigars, you will find a lot of info
3) I recommend you get a bundle of Rocky Patel seconds; either Sungrown seconds or Vintage 1990 or 1992 at Famous Smoke they are more than reasonably priced and they are top shelf smokes even though they are seconds

Re: Stocking a large humidor

Thanks for all the suggestions, you all have been a great help. I talked to one of my roommates and I think we're going to split a bundle of connies or FDO's and then each pick up a couple of fivers.

This site has been a huge discovery for me, I picked up a couple of cigars off one of the NEWB suggestions list and smoked the Onyx Reserve that was reccommended. Long story short, I'll definitely be revisiting Onyx shortly.

Thanks again for all the tips.
