If I am just smoking and talking I hold it the entire time. Normally I am multitasking with a drink or book or the like and have to set it down on occassion. This sometimes gets me in trouble as I smoke very slowly to begin with and have to worry about it going out.

I keep that thing (the cigar) between my fingers like there is no tomorrow. I set it down if I have to do something, i.e. bathroom break, take a shot in pool, or...those are the only two reasons I have so far

Usually hold it unless I need to use all of my fingers on both hands for something ... then I'll park it for however long it takes. For some reason, iin those situations, I just set it down rather than just hold it in my mouth.

Almost always in my hand unless i have to fix my hair, get a drink, go inside for whatever reason, or say bye to someone I'm hangin with.

i rarely set it down, partly b/c i don't have a good place to set it (my ashtrays are always makeshift...usually just an empty plastic cup or something).

I keep it in hand or in my mouth for the duration. People think I am nuts when I golf it helps with my alignment when I putt.

I'm really about 50/50 with it when I'm at home or the bar. If I'm out and about or at a friend's, chances are I'm holding it the whole time.

I hold on to it. I usually set it down only once throughout the smoke and that's when I finish my first coffee and have to go get a 2nd to last the rest of the smoke.
