RP Olde World Reserve

I went out to lunch today at the Old Ebbit Grill here across the street from the white house. Stopped by Drapper tobacco http://drapertobacco.com/store.html

picked up a RP Old World Reserve. Had lunch the lite up my stogie. I noticed the tobacco seemed to be very loose in the wrapper. I had to keep spitting tobacco out of my mouth. The cigar was enjoyable with the exception of the the tobacco falling out all of the the place.

Anyone have this problem?

Re: RP Olde World Reserve

I've had this problem with the Corojo wrapper...Maduro wrapper haven't experienced any problems and I suggest it over the Corojo.

Re: RP Olde World Reserve

We're going to have a short follow-up on the Olde World Reserve Cigar of the Week we did on last week's show. I've not had the same issue, but you might want to listen in to what Bob found. The last one I had (maduro) had a real nice ash the first half, then started becoming very loose & crumbly. Although I REALLY love the flavors in this cigar, we're starting to wonder a bit if there isn't some mixed, or short filler sometimes - not by design, but maybe some hurried rollers?

Re: RP Olde World Reserve

I bought a couple of these when I was on vacation at a B&M, they are some pretty looking cigars. I was immediately attracted to the corojo (robusto I believe), especially with the wrap. I also picked up a maduro torpedo later it is looks awesome as well. Can't wait to give these a try, hopefully they are as good as they look.

Re: RP Olde World Reserve

I went to the B&M the other night to pick up a couple. Low and behold they were all gone Tried another one of the locals and he had no idea of what they were and said he never heard of them. Now I remember why I don't go to that shop too often. I was hoping to have a couple to add to the lineup of smokes to bring with me to a picnic tomorrow. Ahh well, so much for that.

I have to say that I don't know how most of the B&M's stay in business. Most of them do not have the cigars I am looking for, they are over priced & often times the staff is not overly knowledgable. There are obvious exceptions so I am not saying 100%, but probably 9/10. This is your business, read the internet, ask what the newest cigars are. I called around 10 shops the other day looking for the Olde World Reserve, atleast 7/10 had not heard of the cigar and the others claimed they new it but did not carry it. Just me ranting. Sorry!

Did you try any of the authorized dealers listed on the indian tabac site: http://www.indiantabac.com/states/connecticut.html

They might have a better selection and be more in the know. I might hit up my local B&M soon to try one of these out.

Anyone got any pictures?

I was recently gifted 5 Olde World (by Pitdog - ) in various sizes and haven't had the chance to try one yet. Looking forward to them - they look and smell excellent.

Re: RP Olde World Reserve

First off let me say no, I have not had any Olde World Reserve cigars as of yet. I have however, heard a lot about them. Everything that I've heard was that they were well made and tasty; extremely tasty. I'm looking forward to trying these and seeing how good they really are for myself.

Funny thing is that is exactly where my list of 10 shops I called came from.
