I'm 22. Also a college student.

I've been a smoker of cheap cigars for many years. I had good cigars in the past, but didn't think that I could afford them for a long time. That is, until recently, when I started purchasing them online. Now I'm completely hooked and can't stand the cheap cigars that I once smoked regularly.

Thumbs up Re: Everyones Age

18. Been smoking "cigars" since November 2005, when I was 17. I started on Phillies and Swishas, then Acids and Kalhuas...now I am big into full flavoured sticks. I am really excited about this hobby with my Humidor and trying out SOO many different cigars.

But school is starting, and like King James above, I may have to resort to acts of pleasure to be able to afford anything anymore!

Re: Everyones Age

I am 32.

About seven or eight years ago I had a short affair with cigars, but because of my negligence, I let a small desktop humi of sticks get away from me (dried out ). I really enjoyed smoking them when I did (before dried of course), but only bought singles from time to time since I had no confidence in keeping the humi humidified.

About 3 or 4 months ago I started researching technologies available to properly store cigars with lower maintenance. I also realized that it probably wasn't only maintenance on my part, but the fact that I had a cheap piece of of a humidor. So guess what I did?

Bought a new humi
Bought a cigar oasis (overkill, but I was/am paranoid)
Bought, not one, but two digital hygrometers for my one humidor

I'm finally feeling comfortable with my sticks (temps worry me, but I just tell my wife and kids to put on more clothes when they're home ), but I still find myself checking humidity levels once or twice a day.

I guess, I posted this here to say I'm 32, serious for 3-4 months, casual for several years.

Re: Everyones Age

67. I had my first cigar when I was 5 years old. I found one of my father's cigars and a book of matches on his bureau. My mother was talking on the telephone in the living room, so i thought she wouldn't catch me if I lit it up in their bedroom. When she smelled the smoke, that was the end of that. I didn't light up again until I was 14, and that was cigarettes. Smoked those until I was 21, with a cigar thrown in now and then; mostly Hav a Tampas. In 1959, I worked in the tobacco room for a few months at a Liggett Drug Store warehouse. It was loaded with boxes of Cuban cigars. Being a cigarette smoker, they didn't mean anything to me at the time. After I gave up cigarettes at age 21, I didn't smoke again until my son got me into cigars about 10 years ago.
