Good News Bad News

My Mom is getting married. Her and her husband to be came over last night to have dinner. They came bearing gifts for the kids and Rick hands me a box of Cohibas (about half full). He tells me he got them on a trip to the Dominican. We went inside and I started inspecting my new gars. Well these things were looking rough. They were dry and sure enough round holes going through the celo and cigars (Beatles). That sucks. Well I didn't have the heart to say anything. He over course had heard all about my humidors and this obsession of mine so he wanted to check things out. I was just glad he didn't ask why I hadn't put the Cohibas in the humidor.
It really was an awesome thought on his part. I am very happy for my Mom. She is in her mid-fifties which I do not consider old by any means in this day and age but I think she needed someone to share these years with.

Cohibas =

Re: Good News Bad News

I did not try to salvage these cigars. I think he got these cigars like a year ago and they were not keep in a humidor. Just in the original box. They were in very rough shape like I said and everyone of them seem to of been had by the beatles. I already took them outside and threw them in the trash. It hurt to do this but I have several hundred other cigars health to think of. Next time he goes to the dominican I will tell him to ship them direct to me.

Don't worry about it. They weren't real. Cohibas don't come in cello.

Hmmmm - Cohiba's in cellophane. Were they suppose to be Cubans or just Red Dots. Anyway - it's the thought that counts. I would have just smiled, said thanks - and dispose of later.

Sounds like a good guy. They were, no doubt, DR Cohibas.

Nice gesture-youll probably find hell give you a few more presents of cigars now that he knows you like them. I thought they were Red dots by the description?

Ok Moon, You probably didn't think I knew about this board!! I see that you threw my gift away. Well, I smoked a couple of those Cohiba's before I gave them to you and I thought they were great. The only downside was when the beatles ran into my mouth once the cigar got hot. I just spit them out and kept going.

Your next Father In-Law,
Rick

PS - Thanks for dinner.
