Active Military...Please Post Here!

With the whole Tiki Hut Bombing Run going on it got me wondering how many active military BOTL/SOTL's are members on this site. Feel free if you are not active military anymore to post also. Just basic stuff would be interesting to know (Rank, when, where, how long, etc)
Also just wanted to say thanks again for the headaches and heartaches you endure or have endured to ensure the freedoms we enjoy. Your service is very much appretiated here.

Disabled vet here. Did the Army thing 86-92. OG Gulf war veteran, did 6 months in Club Riyadh, Saudia Arabia (KKMC) in support of the 11th ADA 3/43 Patriot Batallion - also stationed in Germany, Texas, and Georgia.

My Son leaves for the Air Force on the 29th of this month. Mommy and I will surely miss him.

Thanks to all the troops for your continued sacrifices.

As most of you know, I am currently serving in Afghanistan. I am stationed at Camp Phoenix in Kabul. I am in my 24th year of service. I am currently a Sergeant Major in an Infantry Brigade. Our Brigade is the Task Force Headquarters that is responsible for training the Afghan National Army (ANA). My first 10 years were spent with the Special Forces in 10th Group and later in 19th Group (Airborne). I spent several years as an instructor at a Military Academy. I am glad that I have had this awesome opportunity to serve in the military, it has been an honor to serve and an honor to get to know all of you at Club Stogie. Thanks for letting me share this with you. Great post, I look forward to reading this one as it grows.

I'm ex-Canadian army ......As far as I'm concerned there is only one person higher than a Sergent Major and that's JC himself.

Served with the 101st in Vietnam and the 82nd at Fort Bragg. Have the upmost respect and admiration for the men and woman serving today.

Well i guess I am still active... My leave still hasnt expired!

Well i am an Infantry Lieutenant in the FL Guard, soon to be GA Guard. As most of you know I just returned from Camp Phoenix Afghanistan and passed "the coolador" off to Edwin for safe keeping. I have been in the guard for a little over 2 years now and have been active a total of one year and 10 months... thus is the life of the FL Guard.

Spent 4 lovely *cough* years in the Army. '86-90 in the 82nd, as well. Got out as an E-5. Some of the best memories and friendships I could have ever hoped to have.

There will always be a special place in my heart for service members, be it past or present.

4 1/2 years and still going. Already did 15 months in Iraq. Now pushing 6 months in Afghanistan. Sometime next year possibly going back to Iraq. I plan on doing my full 20

Total of 17 years combined Navy and Coast Guard service. Spent some time in the Middle East the first time around. Now I'm sticking closer to the home shores.

6 1/2 years and 13 1/2 more to go. Currently serving at Shaw AFB, SC and going to Osan, Korea in January for a year. Cuban cigars here I come. They're legal over there!!!

ADAF Heading to the sandbox real soon with aminor stop over at shaw for likr a day or two...That's right I have to got from England to shaw for a one-two day briefing then go half way around the world. I can't wai to get my air miles

Check out Brewers Bar neaar Shaw. But if you get a chance to go to Columbia. There is a decent cigar shop @ a place called 5 points.
