Awsome vacation, and some cigar ****

Glad you had a good time! I really want to go to Gettysburg someday.

I have a bell dated back to the Civil War. My mother (age 79 now) tells the story of her grandmother using that bell to call her grandfather in to eat. He was fighting the war and would hide under leaves and brush and when she rang the bell he would rush in to eat and then rush back out - how that would work with infantry I don't know. I thought you would be considered AWOL or something if you got caught gone. He fought with the Confederates and his brother was on the Union side. We always assumed the fighting was nearby at the time and it was for a short period of time. We never have been able to put all the facts together, but cool nonetheless.

The history there is awsome stuff,between being a scout leader and my older sons interest in Civil war history, I've been there numerous times. Luckily I'm only 40 min away. Any gorilla planning a trip should get in touch. I would head up to herf with y'all. Sounds like fine time you had!

Im a huge Civil War buff and history major and while I was down there I delivered my resume for an intership next summer. If I get it I would love to herf on the battlefield or even at one of the two cigar shops.

I am sure that I had some relatives involved. My family on my Dad's side came from Virginia and Ohio. My cousin is a big civil war buff. He wrote a book called Too Young to Die. I hope to make that same trek you did some day.

Yes, I went to everything even the stuff I have seen on my previous trips to Gettysburg. We were on the battlefield for a good 8 hours.

Thank You very much for blowing those up. The poster was a freebe the owner (gary) gave me because after chatting he found out I was a huge civil war buff. He sells those cigars and they actually looked decent.
