Awsome vacation, and some cigar ****

Hey everyone, just got back from a great weekend down in Gettysburg with my dad. It was my third time down to visit the battlefield but I finally got a chance to see pretty much everything I wanted to. On Friday night we walked around town and took a really cool ghost tour. I visited a cigar shop called the Gettysburg Cigar Company on Baltimore street. If any of you have the chance to go down there do it and visit the shop. The man named Gary who owns it is a really great guy. My dad and I shot the shit with him for a good 20 or so minutes just talking about cigars. He has been good friends with Carlos Fuente for the last 12 years and even visited his cigar fields in the DR. I also picked up 3 Fuente Fuente Opus Xs which I have wanted for the longest time and now I finally have some. Paid 19 bucks a piece but didnt care. I also picked up a Partagas Cifuentes. On Saturday we spent all day at the battlefield and then walked around town at night. Visited another cigar shop near the traffic circle called The Union Cigar Club and picked up a cool travel case for 25 bucks. All in all a very kick ass weekend. I must be doing something wrong with image shack because I can seem to get the pics to expand when they get clicked on.

Wow sounds like an awesome weekend bro. It's always nice to have a person at the B&M that really cares and enjoys what he or she does. Enjoy those smokes.

Thats awsome, I wish I had ancestors that fought during the Civil War. My dad and I took a ghost tour on fri night and we met some guys who were involved in some get together of people whos ancestors fought in the Civil War. It was interesting talking to them. Gettysburg is by far my favorite place to be, My mom and sister didnt share my enthusism and decided to stay home which was ok because I got a chance to really enjoy time with my dad.

Re: Awsome vacation, and some cigar ****

Sounds like one of those trips you will always remember.

I did some research into our family history. Wish I could have walked from Seminary Ridge to the stone wall with my Dad. His Dad and I are named after a relative (great uncle of my father) who somehow survived Gettysburg but was killed at Petersburg.

His unit, the 14th Tennessee Infantry, was assigned to the Army of Virginia (Archer's 3rd Brigade, Heth's/Pettigrew's Divison, A.P. Hill's 3rd Corps) and made it to the stone wall during Pickett's Charge. The story goes that the unit flag was found planted on the stone wall.

Have a print of Pickett's Charge above my computer in my office.

That is awsome that you found out all that about your relative, its pretty amazing that he was one of only about 300 men out of 12000 who made the charge to get to the stone wall. I went and walked the path of picketts charge and I was trying to imagine what the guys my age must have felt making that one mile walk across open rolling ground.
