Mostly, if you're getting something for nothing, they're telling you what it's worth. This is not a hard/fast cigar rule, but...

I had a jones for the 55's (esp. the corojos) and have quite a few left. Like Tideroll said, I keep meaning to get back to the box I have remaining but, for some reason, it keeps getting slud back in favor of something else.

Best advice I have is don't get too invested in something until you've been smoking cigars for a year or more. The old taster seems to get more discriminating after a while. Stop at a fiver.

FWIW, I had a 55 maddie recently and I have no idea why I once liked them; I had a 55 corojo recently and darn if it wasn't pretty good. I'll send you a handful of 55's to try if you'd like. pm addy.

Mine was running one a couple weeks back as well... They had two varieties of the Optimos -- "Corona" (yellow plastic container) and "Corona Rum" (brown plastic container). The Corona Rums smelled really sweet, so I grabbed two of those and one of the other ones. A friend and I smoked the Corona Rums, and I thought they were good. Haven't tried the Corona yet, but it didn't smell nearly as sweet as the Rum.

Next time they run that special, see if they have the Corona Rums, unless you're hell-bent on not getting any more Optimo. (BTW, Optimo is a brand of Swisher, in case you didn't know.)

Caveat: I've only smoked a few cigars in my life, so I have no refined tastes yet.


[EDIT: I read "Primero" and thought "Optimo", so sounds like they weren't the same things. The "buy 2 get 1 free" promo is what triggered it.]

I tried two of the Series 55 Sun-Grown Victor Sinclairs tonight. The first one was plugged and the second was very tight. Only Moontrance and Macanoodles are this bad. There should be a law against these.
