MC2 Havana Especiales !!!

Last night, I was at a friend's house and he offered me a MC2 that he received as a gift from a friend coming back from Havana. Well, I took one with me (however, smoked my own cigar since I had by doubts and did not want to ruine the nice cognac that was also being served!).

The guarantee seal and Habanos sticker were both inside the box. The date stamp at the bottom was faded and I could only read the EAT, AUO ...?,, otherwise the cigars seemed OK! I suppose the person who bought them was under the impression that the box was smuggled out of the factory before the seals were put on! So I set up the stickers etc. as you can see (...I hope!) and took a picture,, now, what do you experts think - are they fakes?

My bad,, I just tried to view the said picture on my post to no avail,, would appreciate if someone can help walking me through uploading the image (I tried my best to follow the steps - that seems so simple),, but not all of us are as computer savvy as others! x(

open the picture in a jpeg editor (like Photoshop) and size the image to 640 x 480 and then try uploading. Or, you could just email it to me and I'll do it bro.

Is it me, or does it look like the goverment seal is a self adhesive sticker to anyone else?

If it the government seal is in fact a self adhesive type "sticker", it would be interesting to see what would be revealed under a blacklight.

Both the Habanos sticker and the government seal were the self adhesive "sticker" type. I don't have a UV light,, will have to find a shop or somewhere that has them,, hummm..

Never seen a self adhesive government seal that was real my friend. The Habanaos chevron should be a sticker, but the government seals on all my boxes are just paper thats glued on.
I did however see a box of Esplendidos that a friend brought over for authentication that had a sticker type seal on it not unlike yours. Looking closely, the seal had a sheen or gloss to it like it was plastic coated & under a blacklight, it did not reveal any watermarks whatsoever.

Don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but the new seals are self adhearing.

Here's a pics of a box of Cohiba's that has a self adhearing sticker with seal. I did just check all my boxes and all new seals are self adhearing. We know all you smoke is the vitage sticks, Poker! LMAO

I never tried to peel one of the new seals off before until now. Wonders never cease LOL!

Probably just the picture, but looks like the serial numbers under the blacklight show both letters & numbers as red in color yet shows the watermark "shield" perfectly.

I only smoke vintage cigars....

I Think the only reason the serial # is still red, is because I left the closet light on to get the shot. With the bklight only it fades.
