Re: is it ok to inhale?

I don't inhale, if I want to tase the flavors better, I slowly force the smoke out of my nasal passage. That helps to bring out the more subtle tastes. Inhaling burns my lungs and I don't gain any extra tastes from the smoke by doing it.

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I don't inhale but do let smoke drift to the back of the throat and up through the nose to get that extra flavor. A gorilla here coined the term "snorking" for this method.

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I smoked cigarettes for 10 years, pack a day. Quit that 10 years ago but had the occassional cheap cigar when hunting or fishing etc and I inhaled those. It started reminding me why I quite smoking!

The premium cigars I'm smoking now I'm just loving not inhaling, and actually tasting the things, and smelling as well. I try to get a little to pass through the nose if it's not too hot for me but even that tends to irritate the back of my throat at sinuses if I go overboard with it.

Just roll it around in yer mouth and release it slowly with every different technique you can make up My favorite is to roll it round in the mouth while exhaling my lung contents through me nose, then using my tongue to displace the smoke in my mouth and taking whiffs with the nose at the same time.

That's a hella fun thing for me, seeing if I can force the smoke out or in some different route that changes the taste/smell a bit. But by all means keep that outta yer long, just change the habit! Lungs don't like smoke and a cigar's gotta pack of cigs more or less in there!

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I think that you will find that most people here don't inhale. Here's a thread where the question was asked about who inhales and who don't.

http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=9742

Myself? I used to inhale almost every other time, but now not so much and find myself enjoying it much more. It just seemed like I couldn't get as much taste out of not inhaling, but now it seems that is changing also. Still, on occasion, however, I do still inhale, but mostly out of habit.

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I don't recommend it for others - and I direct new smokers around me not too - but I do inhale every single one. I normally do a combination exhale through the mouth and nose. Sometimes I bring the smoke into my mouth and then inhale like normal which draws it up and into the nasal area and down I'm a junkie I guess -

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I use my cheeks and tongue to draw in the smoke into my mouth and as I do I inhale through my nose. This gives me the most remarkable toasty flavor I can't live without. No smoke actually gets into my nose but I can smell the cherry burn. Truly amazing and why i am now a cigar fiend!

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I inhale a little bit, not a whole lot though. Usually just a partial puff out of every few hits.

I had smoked cigarettes for 10 years when I started smoking cigars. I made the nooby mistake of thinking that it would be okay to always inhale them regularly. For the first few days I felt fine, smoking one or two a day and inhaling everything. After about a week, however, I had to stop. Each breath felt like a sledgehammer to the chest.

If you only smoke occasionally, then you could probably get away with it. However, if you plan on smoking regularly, I'd seriously suggest that you not.
Instead, do what Yayson suggested. It'll not only help you taste the cigar better, but will keep it outta your lungs.

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I never inhale the smoke but some of my friends inhale about 1/3 of the smoke from the cigar after exhaling 2/3 but thats ecause theyre heavy ciggy smokers and need the nicotine!

Re: is it ok to inhale?

I dont inhale.

I keep the smoke in my mouth a few seconds. This allows it to go to the back of my throat so I get the taste. Then I blow out slowly.

Re: is it ok to inhale?

If I inhale at all its purely accidental and makes me wanna

The strength/body of the stick I'm smoking determines how often I pass smoke through the nose for extra taste.

Re: is it ok to inhale?

Sometimes only on accident. If you really want to start getting taste, smoke more cigars. When I started I thought these guys were nuts with all the flavors they were tasting. Then this morning on my walk, I had an IT Super Fuerte, and about halfway into it I could swear I was smoking a smore(chocolate and marshmallow). I am starting to pick up flavors, and I never intentionally inhale, so I would vote don't do it.

I don't inhale, I taste the flavors and then I sniff the smoke; I never inhale unless its by accident. If I do, I pay the price.
