What's your favorite lunchtime smoke?
I've found that I'd occasionally like to enjoy a smoke on my lunch break... you know, to just kind of decompress and clear my thoughts a little at the midday. I'm an engineer who sits in front of my computer all day, so getting outside is a welcome bonus. Probably would only do a lunchtime smoke a couple of times a week at most.

I usually take about 45-60 minutes for lunch... and I don't want to fire up something that takes 2 hours to really enjoy. I figure there are two schools of thought here:
  • Smoke a high quality small smoke that takes less time to enjoy.
  • Smoke an inexpensive cigar that you don't mind discarding prematurely.

What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear your suggestions and why you like them...

I usually go for a purito cigar (ie about 25 RG and 4 inches long) because you never know when you have to discard it and i just dont have enough time for a full smoke of even 30 mins *sigh*. My favourite is the H.Upmann Purito.

I have been enjoying the Trinidad Reyes this summer. Very high quality short smoke and a powerhouse of spice. I too work inside in front of a computer all day, so it is nice to get outside and do something you enjoy!

excactly! I love my short filler Jose Peidra (habanos) i have freebie 5'ers of those out the kazoo and there so very tastey! Or on the shorter/more preimium side, id go with a AF Short Story, Hoyo Petit Robusto (ISOM) or RASS

I agree that the Trini is a great short smoke, but the are not inexpensive IMHO ($7 or so a stick).
My picks would be a ERDM Demi Tasse or the Monticristo Joyitas. Both about 30 min smokes a about $3 ea. You can find them with age if you look hard.

LFD Chiselito, a perfecto that has an incredible flavor profile and is a pleasure to smoke, and never takes me more than 45-60 minutes to finish.

I would probably go with the higher quality smoke and it would be one of my favorites: AF Short Story or Signature (for a longer lunch break).
