Re: What is your favorite "Devil Sight" strategy

I find it most useful to come up with a firm amount for a weekly binge. Like "I'm going to bid for this week and spend a max of $150" or something.

Then I take a list of what I know I want and go. Maybe I will entertain a few 5 packs that I haven't tried, but for the most part I go with a list of what I want and isn't so in demand that it will be bid up past par (CI box price). Then I just let the list, the auctions and my budget merge.

Sometimes you can also buy 4 or 5 five packs for less than the cost of a box. Sometimes.

Setting up a max for the week is how I avoid those dreaded $400 surprises when all the dust settles. Ouch.

My most effective strategy is not giving away my strategy.

Bid early, set up auto bid, hope for the best! A lot can be had for 60-65% of CI, but depending on the product, I'll go up to 75%. And I ALWAYS check the prices from other on-line sources, besides CI.

Re: What is your favorite "Devil Sight" strategy

Because of this forum I have been introduced to the so called "Devil Site".
Because of this I have been able to stock up my one humi and now two humis (thanks to the devil site) very well.

I have made out like a bandit as far as prices go.

Here are my strategies after watching the site a while before I jumped on.

First the "Quickies" section. The quickies section comes on every day with a new lots only for that day. They go on the block at about 10 am EST. They list all the lots before they go on the block so it gives you time to prepare for your onslaught with this paticlular auction.

My strategy here is to get on board as soon as they go on the block. I pick the ones I am interested in and put them on my watch list. I figure out the most I am willing to spend and stick to that number. As soon as the auction comes on (around 10 AM EST) I enter the bids in my watch list. This is quick and easy if you check them on the site as items to be watched. The best are ones with more than one lot. If there are 4 or 5 I bid on them all knowing someone will outbid me but probably not on all of them. I have usually walked away at least winning one of them.

For the Regular auctions again get in early. Do not bid anything more than you are willing to spend to get a deal. Bid on many and you will walk away a winner of a few. If you are not winning something you covet. Do not bid more just to win. They will post the same product again giving you another shot.

Unfortunately some people don't get it on the site and end up spending as much as you would from your local Tabac.

Good luck. and see you on the site of the devil. If you see JH of Chicopee MA as one of the bidders you know it's me.
