lately 3-5 a day, is that to much? I enjoy every stick and have cut back from 4-8 a day as in the past

Re: Smoking every day?

When I first started smoking cigars, I thought it would involve 2 cigars, maybe 3, per month, so I bought a small 8 cigar humidor box. But as most of you guys know, because it has happened to the best of us, it has gotten to about 3 to 5 per week. To accomodate my new expanded interests, I just bought a 150 cigar humidor. You gotta love it!!!

Re: Smoking every day?

I end up at about 3-4 a week.

On weekends at the lake, I will smoke 4-5 in a weekend.

I would not be opposed to one a day, but I only smoke when I can sit an enjoy it. Some days I just don't get home in time to have one.

Re: Smoking every day?

I'm just starting out, and I'm also doing pipes at the same time, so my smoking is generally 2-3 times per week, and sometimes that's 2 pipes and one cigar. Of course, I figure once my humidor arrives and I start to fill it, I'll be smoking a bit more.

Also, while I do smoke occasionally during the regular week, the plan is to smoke on nice-weather weekends. Since the rain is going to start falling soon (pacific northwest), I have a feeling a lot of cigars I buy are going to get a chance to age... Might mean I have some really good smokes waiting for me next year!

Re: Smoking every day?

I usually smoke a cigar once a month because my gf hates me smoking but more recently have been smoking once every couple weeks. Hate to go behind my gf's back but I really like cigars now. Also being poor and in college also hinders my ability to buy cigars lol.

Re: Smoking every day?

I have at least 1 per day, 2 if I'm lucky (1 at the B&M at lunch and the other after dinner) - sometimes I miss a day. Weekends involve 2 - 3 per day depending on what's going on. It might be 3 - 4 on days I mow or do other yard work. I missed Sunday but had 4 yesterday. Yippeeeee!

Hey man, the girlfriend will get over it if you expose her to it more. My ex-girlfriend of 3 years hated it when I started, but then I got to explaining to her how it is a nice way to relax and its not a cigarette- its an experience- and she ended up accepting it. I started to smoke once a week without any complaints from her.

Over the summer I have gone from about one a week to 5 a week or so now. I too am a bit worried over the one a day thing for health reasons.

I have been smoking one a day lately, but I think I need to chill for a few days to let this cold I have pass. Can't taste much now anyway.

Why do you think one per day is too much?

NCRM

NC - I'm thinking there might be increased health risk. For that reason I smoke only outdoors (to avoid inhaling smoke).
Lately I have decided that I will no longer smoke the last 2.5 inches more or less. Most of the time I don't enjoy that part as much anyway. So it's a deal I made with myself - I really enjoy having a cigar every day, but I make those small compromises.
It's good to know so many jungle dwellers smoke every day too. I'm feelin' better already, in fact I'm lovin' it!!!
Will go to the coffee shop patio and have a big fat Fuente very shortly... Larry

I hear you on that. Hoping the rain will hold off, although we do need it.

Re: Smoking every day?

To prevent a "habbit" and prove to myself (and my wife) that I have control, I don't smoke everyday. I usually have 1 a night, 5 days a week. Sometimes when the wife goes to bed early and I am not tired I 'll have 2 in an evening. The MAJOR exception was the Shack Herf! I had 21 over the course of 3 days! I felt like $hit for a couple days after. Too much nicotine. I don't see anything healthwise with one a day.
On the days after I haven't had one, I enjoy the smoke more.
