Smoking every day?

When I took up cigar smoking again 2 yrs. ago I would smoke one with a buddy on Fridays. That gradually increased to 3 per week, now I'm smoking one per day, and thinking maybe this is a bit too much. If I skip a day I miss it, start obsessing on what to smoke tomorrow.

What do you jungle dwellers think about daily smoking -- How many smoke every day, and how many do you smoke per week?

Re: Smoking every day?

I usually smoke daily. Sometimes I miss a day.

It all depends on how much time that I have to smoke. I usually smoke about 6 cigars a week on the average. One a day.

Unless it is a good weekend and then its more.

Re: Smoking every day?

My wife just liften my ban on cigars about 11 months ago, our wedding day to be exact. She had an excellent reason for her "no cigar" rule so I didn't challenge. She told me to keep it to 1 every month....then I started smoking one every couple weeks. But I was never allowed to smoke around her. Well, long story short, last month we were both off work and she asked me if I would sit outside while she got some sun. told her I didn't really feel like doing nothing. She suggested maybe I should go grab a drink and a cigar and chat with her.

The rest is history. It went from once a month, to once every couple weeks, to weekly...now I'm 3-5 a week, sometimes a couple in a day. We have a great ritual now that when we're home evenings together, she'll uncork a bottle of wine and sit out on our deck/porch while i fire up a smoke...and if she hasn't had her fill of wine by the time my smoke is done, she always suggests that I go grab another "short one" It's become a great ritual and a way to relax & spend time together.

Guess I got a little bit off track. I don't really enjoy smoking inside so I'll keep smoking my handful a week during the warmer months. I figure everything will even out when it's snowing.

I've often heard that 1 cigar a day doesn't pose much of a health risk and is considered moderation.

Right around 2-4 a week...going to be going to practically nil in a couple of months. Only when I can get to the B & M to have one there.

Re: Smoking every day?

I've went from 1-2 per day to about 4-5 per week. Nothing against cigars, but it was getting to be hell on my wallet!

Re: Smoking every day?

I have at least 2 per day except Saturdays. Gotta get rid of the excess somehow.

Why do you think one per day is too much?

Re: Smoking every day?

I smoke 2 or 3 a week. Seems to be enough for me at this point. I don't see anything wrong with more than that though. To each his own.

Re: Smoking every day?

I smoke one everyday as well....and I started less than two months ago!!
It's not unusually. For me it became an after dinner, sit and relax routine/ritual. It's amazing how laid back and relaxed a moment of reflection and a good gar can make you! Don't sweat it. The only thing to worry about is the expenses.

Re: Smoking every day?

I only smoke 1-2 a week partly because of the money situation in college/workin part time

Re: Smoking every day?

Since my house is smoke free, I go to the shop every evening for my nightly cigar. I've tried two back to back....the mind is willing but the mouth is weak. Two in a row is like eating Thanksgiving dinner twice for me. This of course depends on cigar strength.

Re: Smoking every day?

Very few days pass without at least one cigar. Most days, it's one in the morning and one in the evening. On the weekends, I usually add one in the afternoon.
