Rocky Patel 1990
Just walked next door to the B&M (business is slow today) and tried my first 1990 robusto. I know alot of people here really enjoy this cigar and now I am one of them. My only experience with Patel's are his IT line. This cigar had lots of smoke and a nice spice to it. Lots of flavor yet very smooth.
I was talking to the manager over there and I guess next month Rocky Patel will be there for an event. The B&M is located in Valrico, FL (right outside Tampa). You Florida gorillas may want to mark your calander for October 13. I will post in the herf section once they give me a copy of the mailer. |

Re: Rocky Patel 1990
They are exceptionally good Moon. Some say the 1992's are better, and still others say the Sungrown's are better. Hell, apples and oranges, they are all damned good, and to have a choice of which goodness to have on any given day is sheer heaven
I am glad you enjoy the 1990, and do try the others, then you will see ![]()

Re: Rocky Patel 1990
Hopefully the Patelians here don't ding me, but I don't get excited about most Rocky Patel sticks.. I really like the Indian Tabac line though. Of the 90 and 92 lines I like the 92 much better. I haven't smoked an Edge yet. I have one from the initial run that Rocky gave me - I will smoke it here very soon. I find when young Rocky's sticks taste very vegatal. I can't fault his cigars too much, but most $8 smokes don't need 6 months of aging to reach their prime.
If you can make the event by all means do so. Rocky is a wonderful man to talk to, I have met him a couple times. Either he does a great job acting like he remembers you or he did remember me the second time I met him. A Patel event is one of the best ones out there. -Matt- |
