I bought these little box pressed beaut's thinking they would be a special occasion stick or maybe a "bad day" at work smoke.

Well today was both. My close friends last day working with us, and a back breaker of a day.

So I cut one and went to have a relaxed smoke and the thing was unraveling at the cap before I got to light it. (I cut it with a brand spanking new double bladed quillitine cutter) and I have never smoked a cigar with a harder draw and a more thing whispy smoke. Does this sound like it is in line with others experiences with these sticks? Did I get a bad one? Maybe I just expected too much, or since I am about as newb as a newb can be maybe I just don't know what to expect at all?

Not like these sticks at all. One of the top NC cigars in my book. Not sure what happen. Anytime this happens I put out the cigar and call the place I bought it and explain to them the situation. Alot of time they will exchange it out for you. If they will not I call the manufacture and explain the situation. I keep the cigar in a sealed plastic bag if they would want it back. Guys we are a big part of quality control. If we dont say anything we are not going to get better sticks in the future. I sure as heck not going to pay $8.00 or more for a cigar and fight the thing the whole time I am smoking it. Dont get me wrong I have tossed many cigars without saying a thing to anyone but letting the manufactor know is where its at. Drop them an email or call them up. RJT

Thanks man. I am not homeless or barely scraping up a meal BUT these things were out of my general cigar budget range for sure. I only bought a few, gave them away and saved just the one for myself and it was a HUGE let down. Today was a bad day.

Padrons are usually among the most well constructed cigars made, but you can always get an occassional tight one....I have a had a tight one or two, but usually they draw very well.

If you can say anything about padron's in general, its usaully the consistency, especially in the Anni lines, shame to here you got a bad stick, but dont let it ruin your views of padron, pick up a few of the thousand series, easier on the wallet, and you can afford a bad one (god forbid you get another).

Something was definitely awry with that particular Padron. The 1964's are simply sublime.

It's one of the best NC's I've ever had. Too rediculously expesive though.

As others have noted here, your experience is extremely atypical with Padrons, perhaps the most consistent cigars on the planet.

I've never had either Anniv. series Padron (I hope to soon though, it's one of my "need to try" sticks), but even with their X000 series, I find their construction consistently very good. If the BOTL's say its worth giving them a call, I'm sure it is! Let us know what they say.

Will do folks, thanks again for the responses. I will give them a call. I doubt much will come of it though since I didn't save the culprit. I'll keep you informed though.
