So I ran over to my local B&M on Friday to pick up a couple sticks to burn this weekend. The RP Vintage 92 was good but not as good as the 90 IMO. My question is this. I also picked up a Punch (not real sure what kind). Short in length, thick in gauge, nice dark & oily wrapper. My cheap go to smoke lately. It ran about 3.80. I have bought them and really enjoyed it so I did not give it the once over like I should have. So I go to spark it up and I see orangish spots all over this nice little gar.....
Is this mold? The bumps are raised so that you can feel them. Being so new to my addiction I have never seen this before. Any input from the seasoned vets here?

Re: Mold????
Did it wipe off at all or are the spots "in" the leaf?

Re: Mold????
Doesn't sound like mold to me. Raised bumps that don't wife off sounds like a leaf impurity. I've had Punches where the wrapper tobacco wasn't of the best quality. If I was at all in doubt, I wouldn't put it back in the humi. It needs to be quarantined or smoked. This is all speculation without pics.

Moldy cigar:
![]() The mould would look like this and wipe off easily if it were mould. http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...l%3Den%26lr%3D Heres a tobacco leaf with spots, of course its not dried or rolled but it gives you an idea of how mould more 'sits' on the leaf than in it: ![]() |
