Well it appears to those that replied, the term is used to describe the taste after each puff/sip of your cigar. I find it very interesting, though, the slight differences in the definitions, so much so that it seems necessary to understand who's describing it and in what context. Thanks everyone.

yeah to me the finish is the taste left in your mouth, and how long it takes to fade. basically the same definition wine drinkers use.
