I believe that all the top-end Fuente products, especially the Anejo, are very fairly priced from the factory. Personnally, I wouln't pay some of the extrodinary markups I've seen, but that doesn't change my high opinion of the cigars.

Okay, I'm sold.

Now where can I get a couple boxes for MSRP?

If I'm gonna get by the wife, I might as well make it worth while

That's the whole problem, finding them at MSRP. Hopefully around the holidays it might actually happen. I wish I lived near holts, would be there everyday.

Re: Fuente Anejo's

My favorite NC, no doubt. Great when they first come out, have been sitting on a few of each size for nearly a year now and just smoked a 55 last week. Hard to believe it was even better than I remember from 8 months ago.

I occassionally visit an obscure B&M that had 2 boxes last year. Nobody was buying them except me but he wouldn't sell me a box, maybe this year

Re: Fuente Anejo's

That's a really nice sampler, you will have the opportunity to try some good sticks. After you smoke the opus and the anejo, make sure to let us know what you think (especially the anejo). I believe you are getting a #48, which is the second longest (RG = 48 as well) and a very nice smoke indeed. I would make sure you have at least 1.5 hours to dedicate to this one.

hope you enjoy your sampler.

This is going to sound real stupid.
I'm a little scared to smoke them. I have never seen many of these in real life and if I smoke them, I don't know if or when, I will ever see these again.

Kinda makes me nervous.

I wouldn't worry about it, if you like the opus let me know, I have found several places that sell them close to MSRP when they have them in stock. Some of them even advertise in the retailers section. Most of the other fuentes you can find pretty easily. As for the anejos, you should probably try it before the holidays if you might want to get more, as these are supposedly easier to find in november and december, don't know for sure since I have only been smoking since june or so.

Don't get me wrong, I have some cigars I am saving for special occasions, so you could always hold onto them. In reality, a good padron anniversary (or 1926) or ashton VSG comes pretty close to these, so you can always find something good to smoke if you want to spend a little extra from time to time. Some people don't really like the opusX (can be rather peppery), so you won't know until you try. However, I have not heard of anyone who really dislikes the anejos, except the guy at my local B&M.

Let em rest a couple of weeks after shipping and light em up.

By the way, where are you from in WA? I'm originally from bellevue.

Re: Fuente Anejo's

Does the owner of your B&M not like Anejo’s because he has trouble getting them in stock? One of mine is pretty bitter toward Fuente products for that very reason, it’s funny to hear him complain about them.

I'll give them some time in the Humi and pull the trigger on the Anejo and try to get some boxes in Nov. and Dec.

I live in Eatonville. It's about 20-25 minutes south of Puyallup and about 50-60 minutes south of Bellevue. If you ever went to Mount Rainier, you most likely drove through Eatonville. You can also get to the north and east sides of Mount Saint Helens by driveing through Eatonville.

The largest B&M around here is the Thunderbird. It is owned buy one of the Indian Tribes around here and has the bonus of a cigar lounge which is very rare in this state. It has a large selection and many Fuente's, but they just laugh when I ask about Opus and Anejo. We also have a couple cigar worlds that may have 40 boxes of cigars if lucky. Their prices are high and tend to focus their business on those that are wanting to get high, not on cigars. I don't remember seeing Fuentes there.

I prefer the Thunderbird even though it is 1 1/2 to 2 hour round trip for me depending how much time I spend looking, and 4 hours if I smoke a cigar there.

Another bad thing about the B&M's in this state is not the B&M's fault, it's the stinking money grabbing Governor, State government and their 75% tax. I can buy a box of mail order for the price of a handfull of B&M cigars.

They can't get enough money. They put what is called a sin tax on tobacco, alcohol and while the gas prices were going up they jumped the gas taxes to 50 cents a gallon. If they can't raise property taxes one year then they will jump your property value. My property value went up 20% last year and 50% this year. The value going up sounds great if your planning on selling but, a lot of people are taxed out of their house and forced to sell because they can no longer make a house payment and pay their taxes. Sorry about that, but it sure eats into a guys cigar money

Come on now Zoom, our Governor loves you and so do all those left coasters from Seattle who swill their booze & espresso's but have decided if they can't outright ban tobacco they will suck the life out of it with taxes.
