What's the big deal with them? Why so expensive?
They do nothing for me at all. No special taste. Just tobacco. That's it.
Anybody else feel the same way?

Nope. IMO they are a very good smoke although a bit overpriced. The ones I have had , and the remaining ones have been resting for over 7 months; they get much, much better with some time at rest. They are fullbodied, complex and rich tasting. Try em again sometime and you will likely find you are smoking a different cigar.

Are we talking NC? The one that I had (maduro I believe) was pretty damn good for me, but I definitely see it as a love it or hate it smoke.

Re: TTT Trinidad

I had one about a month ago, and I was rather disappointed. I agree with the "just tobacco" taste of it, and I found it to taste rather harsh.
But, I have to keep in mind that it was about my fourth cigar ever, and before it I had only had a couple of Macanudos and a Montecristo, so I will withold final judgment on it until I get the chance to try it again. I'm learning that I can't judge a cigar from smoking it just once.

Re: TTT Trinidad

I had one that I got in a sampler from Holts. Never really stood out to me, just sitting in the humi for months. So one day I broke it out and said "I'm gonna smoke it and if I don't like it, at least I'll know". Well, it was great! Full flavor & body. I really enjoyed it. Yes they are pricey, but I feel worth it. I really want to try the Fundador size.
