No. I smoke cigars or age them towards smoking. I observe in the world there are a very few certain people and businesses who make money with cigars and there are a very many who set them afire. I am very much in the second group.

OK - it's all a lie. I keep my beloved unbroken samplers in the humi right next to (heaven help me) the 1998 Limited Edition After-Sex Cigar-Barbie. Her little cigar is still in the original cellophane and the little Ken-Condom package has never been opened.

No. After awhile I can't remember where my cigars came from (samplers, trades, 5-packs) anyways....

I have a Hoyo Dark Sumatra sampler that I haven't bee able to break. I have too many other choices any way. When the desire to comes to have one, it won't hurt me one bit to turn 'em to ash!

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

Man, I have a box of Cohiba Reserva and a box of Montecristo Seleccion that I am dying to bust into.
I have been saving them for a while and then often ask, why? Can't save them forever and can't or don't want to leave them for the next guy that replaces me.
So.....I am coming closer and closer to all out madness and emptying them out.

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

No not me. The nice thing about hitting those samplers is you learn about the wide variety of tastes. From that point forward it is kind of mystical but I get in the mood for a certain cigar. Rarely do I open my humidor without know what 'mood' I'm in. If that cigars turn is up....... it's coitans for it .

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

My biggest problem with samplers is what which ones to buy and how not to over shoot my budget doing so. Once I get them I try to smoke them all, some will sit longer than others, but all are intended to decide what to buy more of.

Exactly! Either get samplers that have two of each cigar, or buy 2 samplers. That way you can keep your collection together _and_ sample the smokes. Never know when you might find one that you like so much you just have to buy a box.

Roger that. Buy one for smoking, one for looking at, and one for giving away.
