Anyone else OCD about samplers?

I have some semi-premium samplers and I can't get myself to smoke anything out of them because then the collection will be broken... It's hard to explain but it's definitely me being OCD. Anyone else get like this?

No, but I do like to save them for special occasions.

I got a 1926 Padron sampler that I wouldn't touch. Luckily, however, I did get to try each of the 4 sizes without breaking up the sampler.

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

I think you have collectors, and you have smokers. Absolutely nothing wrong with belonging to either group, or maybe even falling into that hazy area in the middle.

Personally I'm a smoker. Can't take 'em with me, but I can sure burn 'em before I go!

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

I've got maybe 5 samplers. It took staring at them about a year to even rip the cellophane, much less smoke them. They aren't all premium, but I can't bear to think of breaking up my N.A.T.A.S.A. churchill sampler. I do lie in bed sometimes wondering what that Jose Marti tastes like.

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

Not samplers, but I find it hard to smoke the first out of a box, then they're gone in no time. Kinda like breaking a $100 bill.

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

The only problem I have with smoking samplers is which one to smoke first... and as for a box, with in at least 24 hours of that box coming home... one is out of it.

Re: Anyone else OCD about samplers?

Some samplers like RP Vintage samplers I will buy 2 or 3 so that I can smoke 1, give 1 to my brother in law and save 1 for later such as traveling when I do not want to break a box that I have been ageing. Others if it is a cigar that I have never had, will buy just 1 since the purpose of the sampler is to try that brand to evaluate for a box purchase. Paul
