What's up with Tasmania? Until the smoke nazis siege Las Vegas, I would like to stay in the USA. Switzerland will be the last Euro hold out on a smoking ban.

I suspect the rest of Europe will follow suit pretty soon. Remember, something like 1/3 of french smoke, that's a far higher number than most places.

Yup, it's part of Australia. Prettiest place I have ever seen (Scotland a close Second), but I here New Zealand is absolutely breathtaking.

Great thing about Tasmania is it's as if you are back in time 30 years. Friendly people, great food, a good amount of open land for as small as it is. Amazing variation in ecology, habitat, and climate.

Some world class trout fishing to boot. A great place to really get away.

Well, I hope they allow expatriates to stay if they can provide for themselves. I'm looking for a place to retire to A)once I have the money, and B)if things get too ridiculous here in the USA.

Well you sound more serious than I thought. I was just kind of reponding to your search for a Caribean expat location. But in all seriousness, If I were to get away this would be the place.

As long as you don't need to trout fish with a shotgun and aren't too worried about the roving gangs of Tasmanian Devil Car Jackers you will be set -
