Help Identify this cigar from the band, Please.

Smoked this Maduro last night and really liked it. I purchased the Oliva Torpedo about 3 or 4 months ago and just got around to smoking it. I purchased it at a B&M and now I want to get more online. Any help appreciated. Oliva has a confusing mix of Maduro's, only found 2 pix that look like the same band.

I want to make sure I don't buy the wrong box!

Thanx in advance.

I think youve answered yourself, those sites look to be accurate. if youre not sure, go to your local B&M and buy a few singles to check, but i think youre already there!

Based on the links you sent and just looking at the pics, it appears it's the first link. The shade of blue is the same, but the second one has a darker blue, more purplish.

Either way, why not take that band into your B&M while buying some other cigars, figure out which one it is, and note down the name? Or you could just go in and buy one more of exactly that and get the name at the same time.

You could always call your vendor to be sure that you get the correct cigar.

Yea I will have to try that. It's a 45 min drive and I'm not sure if he has any more. The owner isn't the friendliest guy in the world. Customers seem to aggrivate him by buying his stuff. He has a nice selection of smokes but is a bout as friendly and helpful as a pissed off rattlesnake. He gives me that look as I THANK HIM for lowering himself to sell to me. I really hate proprieters like that. It's like I'm interfering with him doing nothing by making him sell me stuff. I guess I could always slip him a $20 spot to be helpful next time. I drop at least $50 every time I walk in the door. Maybe all his other customers drop $500 and I'm just not worth all the energy needed to say 'hello'.

Sounds like you need to find yourself a better shop. That guy doesn't deserve your business.

I feel the same way, however, there isn't another shop. Closest one is 2 hours drive after this one.

As far as that cigar goes. I have one of the exact same band sitting in my humi. The B&M sticker label on it says: Oliva O Ovation Maduro. When I bought it I thought I was getting the 2001 discontinued line but now I'm not so sure since it seems those had cloth labels?

Re: Help Identify this cigar from the band, Please.

I would forget about this guy entirely and start ordering online. The gas money alone to drive 45 minutes must be insane, not to mention the attitude once you get there. I knew a shop like that guys once... and there was only once. Never went back again. Take your hard-earned money elsewhere.

There is a vendor sticky thread in the Questions - Cigar forum. Many BOTL's here seem to like SeriousCigars or Longashes2u.

Re: Help Identify this cigar from the band, Please.

Overheard at "XYZ cigar company" board meeting.

"Gentleman, lets produce a cigar that people like and then keep them guessing as to which one of our boxes to actually buy, that way, people will always be trying different lines." (applause, applause). "Hear, hear, Rodrigo is a genious!!"

My biggest pet peave about cigars is trying to find a cigar a 2nd time. The companies should give each one a NUMBER or alphanumeric type code for each cigar and it's size. Print it right on the box. Simple. Online stores could post Oliva Grande Maduro #OGMT22 and I would be able to get the exact stick I want. I went through the same thing trying to find an AF Maduro. PITA factor is high and all I want to do is relax!!

You welcome. I've ordered also one box of natural wrapper. These are great cigars, and as they are discontinued, they are selling also very cheap. Hope you like them.
