Bolivar Vintage 1994 Belicoso Fino

I just finished a Bolivar Vintage 1994 Belicoso Fino, and let me tell you, it was an amazing experience. This cigar is 6.0" x 36 rg, and was produced in 1994. It is the original Dominican blend, the blend created to complement its Cuban predecessor. This cigar was wrapped in a beautiful golden Ecuadorian wrapper and filled with bold Dominican tobacco. Add the fact that it was been sitting in a humidor for over 12 years, makes this an experience to be remembered.

I gently pulled it out of its cello. Once colorless, the cello has now been yellowed by the years. I cut the cap with my new Xikar, and began to toast the foot. A very pleasant smell arose, and I became even more excited to get this show on the road! As I took my first puff, I braced for the usual harshness right after lighting, but I was happy to find, some of the smoothest most flavorful smoke I have ever tasted. It burned amazing all the way through, not even the slightest "shovel". It had a unique taste, like I've never tasted before, but it was very pleasant on my palette. It can almost be described as an "exotic" taste, like something tropical, but refreshing and clean. It was without a doubt, one of the best tasting cigars I've ever had.

If anyone else has tried this cigar, I'd like to hear about your experience as well. =)

I got it on Cbid a little while back, and had it sitting in my humi, waiting for the perfect night. I hope I can find some more!

Re: Bolivar Vintage 1994 Belicoso Fino

I picked up 3 of the 5-packs on CBID a while back. The last one I smoked was plugged, but the other two were very nice. The smoke is smooth and tasty. You have to be very careful not to pull too hard or too often on this cigar as it will get very hot. This is a very rough looking cigar and kind of reminds me of a Padron Fuma - in looks only.
