The only vitola of this line which I've tried is the Machito. I enjoy it. I find it to be a kick-ass smoke with lots of flavor. Maybe you just had some bad luck and drew a bum stick from the lot.

I tried the belicoso one time and it nearly floored me. It was a tasty smoke, and did burn well, but it was too strrong for me, and I've been smoking cigars for 12 years now. That's one of those I have to have a large meal before smoking.

Grinch OUT!

Unhappy

The Gran Consul is one of my fave strong yet flavorful smokes, it's up there with the Opus X #2 in my book. They were stronger right out of the box but more flavorful after a few months humi time...i dunno...try again

I thought the antano was plenty flavorful, but I didnt find it as strong as it was said to be....but then again Im a bad judge because I have a very high nicotine tolerance from chewing (yes i know, bad for me, crappy tobacco, but I cant smoke during a lacrosse game....or can I??? ). The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero was a lot stronger in the nicotine department I felt. That was gave me a buzz.

The Machito is my new favorite domestically available cigar. I don't find it to be all that a$$ kicking, but it is fairly strong and the flavor is definitely full. It's the only non-ISOM TPC that I've ever liked. The Robusto Grande is a pretty good cigar as well, but I prefer the flavor of the Machito.

For me, this is an extremeloy strong, flavorful, delicious smoke. I watched someone turn green and almost throw up from the strength.

They come wet, they do need to set. I have noticed quite a difference in just 6 months as far as the flavors melding together. The 1st one I tried was a Gran Consul, w/o any humi time, it was all over the map. I at that time thought it lacked focus...but the last 2 inches did have some power. I have had one now after 1/2 a year in the wetbox...and it now has focus + a bit of power that creeps in.

The Machito is a great little smoke. The closest comparison I can make is the Ashton VSG. That is a helluva compliment seeing how these Joyas cost about $2 a stick.

I bought a bunch of different sizes of these 1970 Antos' because they looked so cool and cost so little. My humidor has about 75 in different sizes just sitting..............waiting............simmering.

Have smoked the Gran Consul's and Belicosos....good flavorful strong cigars...not for the casual smoker, IMHO.
You do need to age them a while so that they can settle in.

for real

Ditto, they do come sopping. Let em dry out for a while before toking. I'm still waiting on mine. They were like wet sponges when they came in.
