Finally smoked this cigar and I gotta say I thought it was pretty damn good!!

It torched up real nice and burned very well with lots of smoke. They say this cigar is packed somewhat loose and I agree although I don't feel this is a negative. The draw throughout was fantastic and never got hot or harsh.

The taste was unique while still retaining some of the traits I love in a maduro. Bittersweet almost dry chocolate flavors that seem to coat your mouth.

I thought this would taste similar to the CAO Brazilia although to me it did not. Once again I don't think this is a bad thing even though I love that CAO line. In fact this cigar reminded me most of the Padron 2000 maduro which most would probably agree is a positive.

All in all I thought this was a really good smoke and unique as it's a Brazilian puro. If the price is set within reason and it gets some B&M / online store placement, I believe it could really compete with the Padron thousand series.

I got it a week ago, but my humidors been acting crazy so I havent been able smoke it yet. On first glance it looks rustic with veins and doesnt look that pretty. When I fix my problem it'll be the first thing I smoke. Did you use a punch like he recommended?

Nah I just snipped it. I agree it aint a pretty cigar but I really enjoyed mine.

I bought two of these after I fell in love with the CAO Brazilia and started searching for Brazilian Puros. I smoked one and have one still brewing. They are decent cigars and have a very unique flavor to me. It felt loosely packed to me and had a very light (almost too light) draw though. Be careful when squeezing and take care not to make it burn too hot. Other than that it is a worthwhile cigar.

I've had a few of these Alonso Menendez cigars now and I think that the best word for them is "unique." It looks and tastes different than almost any other cigar... but in this case that is a good thing!

I should say that I don't really think it is all that similar to the CAO Brazilia, which I also like.

Any one else have thoughts on the comparison between Alonso Menendez and CAO Brazilia?

Just recieved mine today. The thing looked good and the wrapper was extremely oily, smelled unlike any other cigar I have ever smelled. Can't tell you if that's good or not... Well I'm going to let it sit for a couple days then smoke it.
