Puros Indios Maxima Reserva anyone?

I'm wanting to know if anyone shares my affection for these suckers?

I received my first from an okierock bomb, a robusto, and immediately knew I'd be looking for them. I picked up 5 or 10 of the media coronas vitola and have had the pleasure of a couple more sessions and I'm just impressed.

They have a different flavor profile than anything I've ever had before and it's kinda complex, from classic "cigar schtank" to cinammon and few other nice aromatics treats between. Never overpowering or obnoxious but always giving you plenty of what you want.

So anyone else like these or what? Just haven't heard that much about them around here.

No, I don't believe I have. But I do recall a conversation with Okierock regarding this stick....now I'm intrigued..I need to check into this.

Re: Puros Indios Maxima Reserva anyone?

I really like the Puros Indios Reserva Maxima - many of the cigars coming from the Puros Indios factory are good values and good cigars to boot - the Reserva Maxima is one of the better ones. They are a steal for the price on the devil site.

I think they may have aging potential over a year or so, too.

Check out this URL for more info, great article on the Puros Indios factory:

Re: Puros Indios Maxima Reserva anyone?

Of the 3 I've had only one wasn't settled in (straight from the devil site's box) and it wasn't near what the others were so there may be something to the age comment, thought the same myself.

if you "have one in the humi, but havent had time to smoke it" - sounds stable!

Glad to hear there at least a few others that rate this one, I think I'm nuts in my preferences sometimes

I like 'em! I've got a couple of boxes that I have had for a year or so and they keep getting better. There is nothing else out there that has the unique flavor of these smokes so your not alone. My favorite of the Puros Indios line.

Do a search over in the non-habanos forum and you will find quite a few reviews on them. They are a popular smoke. I have some of them; toros and piramides and they are an excellent smoke.

Re: Puros Indios Maxima Reserva anyone?

I love these things after 6-8 months in the humi, and under the right "conditions."

By "conditions," I mean that I enjoy them most with an iced coffee or cold, light beer in the summertime... Over the winter months, they're also pretty darned tasty with a dark, hot chocolate!

In the face of a bourbon, (IMHO), they seem to lose their unique flavor... Though in the face of bourbon, I seem to lose my ability to discern flavor!

Go figure!

This is by far one of my favorite cigars, especially the Churchill. It has a deliciious tang to it about halfway through the stick that I love.

Wow there are some that consider this smoke to be really good! Surprises me because I rarely hear mention of the PI line. I have smoked a regular PI and it had very little flavour. Tonight I think I will torch a PI Viejo 99 that Ricky gifted me. It's a toro. Anyone dig this stick?

Re: Puros Indios Maxima Reserva anyone?

I tried my 1st ResMax from the CI Puros Indios sampler a few months ago, on Saturday. I was REALLY underwhelmed; acrid taste, one dimensional, harsh. No, I didn't smoke it too quickly, yes it was stored properly...
I guess the sampler will see a birthday before I break into it again.
If she don't improve, she's headed for sale.

The regular line PI Los Gordos (6x60) is my fav. large ring NC; the ResMax didn't hold a candle to it.

Well my taste buds tell me the Viejo line doesn't hold a candle to the Maxima Reserva line.
