That's a f'in sweet deal you got there! I know Hydrated is a sucker for box-pressed and I smoked a fine petite corona boxed last night. Great catch!

I had a RP Old World Reserve box press that was just great. I agree though, some box pressed brands provide for a tight draw.

I always thought box presses were cool, the mayorga gordito torpedo is one of my favorites, and I just got some nepalese warriors and class regent square press that I cant wait to smoke after their rest

The numerical balance of dark & light wrappers in the 3x7 sampler attracted me because I prefer maduro wrappers, but wanted to sample the H2000 wrapped version. To my surprise I enjoyed the naturals equally. My wife thought her sample puff of the lighter wrapped stick was similar to her sample puff of the darker wrapped version, but without the harshness she detected from the latter. Usually we find this experience to be reversed. What she called "harsh" I called "long finish" [grin] and the difference between a morning cigar and an evening cigar.

Re: Any Box Square Box Press Fans

I've noticed that with most of my box-pressed sticks they gradually lose the hard edges with time in the humi. I have some which don't even look box-pressed any more after about a year's time.
If you leave them tight packed in their original box, they hold their shape.

My rule of thumb is, when they are looking almost round again, they're ready to smoke! Larry.

Re: Any Box Square Box Press Fans

I've only had a couple different box press cigars. Neved had any draw problems with either the RP '92 or the Punch Rare Corojo. Takes a little getting used to the shape in the hand, but other than that a nice smoke IMO.

Nepalese Warriors are a great box press. You can get them on CBID. I think they is an auction going on right now for 5packs which comes to around $3 a stock. Great value at that price.

The box pressed is one of my favorite cigars out in the market today, from the indian tabac super fuerte to the padron annis to the olde world reserves they are great.

I like the box press of...Sancho Panza Double Maduro, or Extra Fuerte, Punch Rare Corojo, Perdomo Square, IT, etc. I haven't had any draw problems with box pressed cigars as of yet.

Re: Any Box Square Box Press Fans

The Padrons are easily one of the best box-pressed cigars in the world... also, I think the Sanchos are pretty good, too. I haven't tried the Indian Tabac. ones, yet. I'd like to see Rocky's take on a box-press!
