Big Smoke Chicago (April 29, 2004)

Hello all,
I've never been to a Big Smoke Event but I see one is coming to Chicago this April. My question is this "convention" worth the $100 + admission or should I invest that cash into a box of sticks instead?

Thanks,
The Tiki

Smile Yes, GO!

By all means GO! I went to Big Smoke Vegas 2003 (my first) in November, paid $175, and it was worth it.

Every vendor has a free cigar to give you (CAO, Ashton, Zino, Montecristo and more); a free shot of Rum, whiskey, or wine; or an awesome car to show (Vipers, Hummers, GTOs). Plus free food from the best casino restaurants, live band, Callaway Big Bertha giveaways, free butane lighters, free cutters, and so much more.

Plus, every booth is staffed with a hot model in a tight dress or bikini.

It was fokken awesome. I wish I could get up to Chicago for this one.

cigar question...

Are the cigars that are handed out at the big smoke "quality cigars"? When one poster stated $175 entry fee that kinda made me think twice. Cheesy local models payed by the hour to hold trays does nothing for me. If I go I want it to be all about the cigars. What do you folks think.

Mic,

I was at Big Smoke Vegas 03 also. Did you get one of those lighters from the motorcycle booth? Did you get yours jacked by the Vegas airport security? I did, and the lighter was even empty (no butane).

The jacka$$ at security said they had confiscated about 2 dozen in the last 12 hours. Damn!!

CA SMOKEOUTS--GO

go you will love it. I am a woman and dont care about the hotties at all, and they had no scantily clothed men there, sober atleast!
The give aways are incredible as described by others here.
You will enjoy atleast one, and then decide if you become a s/o junkie!!

I went to the big smoke in Chicago back in 2002. It was great. Everybody received about 30 cigars!! Scotch, wine, beer, whisky, port samples, not to forget about food samples, band plus all of the giveaways. I took my wife and she even had a good time. We stayed at the Hyatt (host of big smoke) and it was a fun couple of days. I would highly recommend it.

Man, for those of you unaware, Chicago is just an AWESOME time! That town has it all, including the best restaurants between the coasts. If you're thinking about going, all you need to know is: Spiaggia or Cafe Spiaggia for Italian, Frontera Grill & Topolobampo for Mexican, and Gibson's for steaks. Just phenomenal food, atmosphere and service. The guys who live there will back me up on that, for sure. I'm gonna have to talk to some of my buddies about making the short roadtrip from Detroit. It'll be my first Big Smoke, and I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Fumar.

How much did a single ticket run you? I have heard $100 and I also heard $175. Did you buy your ticket in advance or did you buy it day of?
