Re: Carlito's Way arrived

Got mine yesterday as well. It came in a nice black box.

I actually have a question about the opusX. So I usually remove the cedar wraps as I have had mold problems in the past with a couple of anejos. When I removed the wrap, the cigar had oily little spots all over the wrapper. Is this oil from the cedar wrap itself or oil from the wrapper leaf? This stuff looked more like sap, as I could not wipe it off with a lint-free towel (I know it is not plume). I decided to put it back into the cellophane without the wrap.

I have seen some of my opusX in my humidor (no cedar wrap) have this as well, but not nearly as bad. Is this natural? The weather got a little warm during the summer (this is the reason I freeze everything), but recently it has been in the mid 60's, so I doubt it is a temperature problem.

The Work of Art Maduro had what looked like a very small amount of mold near the head, it was fine after I wiped it off. I have a feeling that maduro wrappers are more prone to mold, probably because of the increased sugar content.

Wow, that sounds awesome!!!!! Those are some fantastic smokes! Personally, I think Carlito's Way is the most underrated Pacino movie EVER!

Want a picture, well here is a picture!

I don't think I know how to use our digital camera good enough to get a close-up shot at the sap. I know it is not plume or mold.

Re: Carlito's Way arrived

Unfortunately, you guys are not getting any pics from me. You can ask all you want, you're not getting any.

My sampler is now safe and sound at -10 to -20C and won't be seeing the sun light for at least a week.
