cheaphumidors.com -Any recommendations?

Last night I knocked over my humidor and unfortunately it is now in pieces. Even worse a bunch of my smokes got cracked and ruined as well. In particular my prized Monte #2 I was saving for a special occasion

I guess the one good thing is now I get to shop for a new humidor! Can anyone recommend a mid-sized humi (100-150 cigars) from cheaphumidors.com. I am eyeing up "The Tuscany" and "The Torino" as of now. Anyone have one of these?

Thanks,
Smokem

I'm partial to the glass top humidors... the Pompeii. El Rey, or Valencia look good and they have a similar count and price range.

The reasons being:
1. You can check your digital hygrometer inside without opening the lid.
2. You can see what you've got in there, again without opening the lid.

Good luck with it.

I think you are choosing well by getting one without a built in analog guage. Mine is so far off it's pathetic and I can't figure out a way to calibrate it.

I have one similar to the Pompeii and my only complaint is that the hole that the Hygrometer sits in doesn't seal 100% so my 70% beads really only keep it at ~68% not really a bad thing but something to consider. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice.

Can anyone who has purchased from cheaphumidors.com, or know anything about them comment on the general quality of thier humi's? All I really care about is if they generally hold himidity well, etc.. (obviously, duh.. ).

Thanks!!

Re: cheaphumidors.com -Any recommendations?

Hey bro,
I carry the same humidors and can comment on the quality. All of the online places get them from the same 3 places (for the most part). I looked at all 3 and the Quality Importers stuff is the best of the bunch in terms of quality. Good seals, decent finishes and hardware for price.

Like everything on my site, I tested a few for a few months prior to adding them and those who have purchased them seem to love 'em.

Hope this helps!

Unless the hygrometer has an adjustment screw you can get to, the best you can do is check it for accuracy.

Hold a ziploc bag inside the humidor against the side with hygrometer, mark the bag around openings for the hygrometer then cut this area out of one side of the bag.

Wet a new sponge (one without soap) with distilled water place it in the bag, now put the bag in the humidor so the sponge is against the back of the hygrometer, shore it in place, close the lid and wait 6 hours.

If it reads anything other then 95%, make a note of the deviation.

Re: cheaphumidors.com -Any recommendations?

A big thank you to JCole311 who bombed me with a real nice selection of Drew Estate cigars after hearing of the damage my collection suffered recently. The generosity of the BOTLs on this site never ceases to amaze me!

JCole311 - You the man!!!
