Bahia Golds - What Happened??

I remember when these first came out (back in 98 I think) these were phenominal. Me and my bro scoured the local B&Ms to get our hands on as many of these as we possibly could at the time. I remember the #4's were particulaly good. Very strong with tons of different flavors - I remember tasting crazy things like raspberries, cocoa, etc.. man, they were good.

I haven't had one in years b/c it seemed back in approx 2000 they just weren't the same anymore - milder with a lot less complexity. I was just curious if anyone else experienced the same with these? I would do anything to go back in time and put just one away so I could see what it would be like now...

I agree they used to be awsome. Then they changed the blend and the rest is history. Its pretty much a dead brand I believe. You may be able to find some here and there but they wont be the same

The Gold's were exceptional when they first came out, that's for sure.

I also liked the gold..My feeling is his products are a bit overpriced.

Re: Bahia Golds - What Happened??

Svillekid gave me a couple a while back, and I still have one. The one I smoked didn't have much power at all. I doubt it will grow stronger in the next year or two, but I'll keep it hanging around. I might want something mild for a morning smoke sometime, but to your point I wouldn't classify it as a bold smoke.
