A noob milestone
I'm sure this happens quite frequently to many of you but it's a first for me. I go to my small humidor...less than twenty sticks and was quite surprised to produce a stick that I forgot that I had purchased. I'm now enjoying my first Torano Exodus 1959. I got it at a B&M a while back and competely forgot I had purchased it. I'm sure this will happen again alot more as my humidors fill but this first time.....it was like finding a twenty dollar bill in the pocket of an old pair of pants. A really well made, good tasting twenty dollar bill. What were some pleasant forgotten surprises you unearthed?

Re: A noob milestone
A few weeks back I picked up a pair of Don Carlos (different vitolas) and a pair of LG Diez Orientals. I had never smoked either of them and picked them up to sample some day in the future.
Long story, short: the other day I'm going through my humidor trying to find a smoke and I find one Don Carlos and one Oriental. Surely I would've laid these two pairs of cigars down together... right? Anyway, I'm sure that the missing DC and Oriental will turn up and offer me surprise smoke one of these days. Who knows when it'll be, but I'm sure it'll be fun! I think I'm buying too many cigars.... ![]() |

Re: A noob milestone
I see your a C&C fan. Great! My best unearthing was nothing special just because i have short memory on some things and a fairly empty wallet when it comes to buying "good" smokes. But I bought a fiver of Java torpedoes smoked three and gave one away, leaving one of course. with-in the week it got shuffled to the bottom. Was changing humidors when i found it again and that made for a great afternoon.

Re: A noob milestone
I had a similar experience recently...
http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=48968 I smoked a Padron that I didn't know I had, nor did I remember where it came from... and if you read the thread, you'll notice I didn't even know it was a Padron when I started smoking it... noob milestone? or senile? |

Re: A noob milestone
I recently uncovered an OpusX Perfecxion X that I had tucked away well over a year ago. Unfortunately, I also forgot to remove the cedar wrap, and my hopes of enjoying an aged Opus were quickly dashed as I was greeted by several deeply-embedded blotches of green mold.

I'm not quite there yet, but I'm not looking forward to the diapers... although, a part of me thinks it will be very convenient not having to get up just to take a leak. |

Re: A noob milestone
I wish I could bring myself to be that acrefree about it; I have an excel spreadhseet, with every dog rocket to every CC listed. It's kinda OCD, but gives me something to drool over here at work.

Re: A noob milestone
It is always a nice feeling to find something you didn't realize you even had anymore. That makes it that much better IMO. The "phantom cigar" hasn't happened to me yet, but when my collection starts getting larger, I am sure I'll lose track of what I've smoked, and what I have. Not to mention sticks already forgotten in bombs and trades.
