Question Ashton VSG vs Padron Anni. 64- Super Premium Face Off

So I am looking at buying a box or half box of a real nice cigar as I just bought a box of Torano 1916s (mid priced) and a half box of Padron Londres Maduro (more budget end).

These two are two that I can get my hands on relatively easily and are generally regarded as super premiums.

Now I am looking at the VSG Illusions or Corona Gordas and the Padron Anniversary 64 Monarcas or Principes- not sure if I should go Maduro or Natural.

Now I have scoured the internet and this webpage for reviews and have taken them into consideration- and I should also pick up one of each and try them out. But I also like to see people who can sort of do "face-off" reviews from past experiences and give me a more in depth review of how these two compare to each other.

Now, this seems narrow-minded but I would also be interested in seeing other recommendations for Corona/Petite Corona/Perla/Lonsdale sized super premiums.

So go ahead, spout off!

Edit- I will also throw the Tres Mystique in the VSG Lineup.

Between the ashton and the padron I would go padron, I like these a lot the 64s are one of my favs and I am a big fan of the monarchs, great cigar and I have been thinking about a box for awhile, I would go natural wrapper with the 64s-I like the flavor more. Another cigar in a corona size that I really like would be the padilla miami 8 and 11. These have become lately another one of my favorites, one of the best ncs I have ever had.

I like the VSGs a lot, but I can't pass up any PAMs or PANs. I say go with the Padron. Yet, you can't go wrong with either one. Also, Davidoff Millenium blend Lonsdale? You could consider that too.

I'd take the 64's over any VSG, Probably have at least one of every size of both and hands down prefer the 64's in maduro, not as big on the nats. As for the VSG's not alot of experience on these, enjoyed the robusto size a great deal, Enchantments are not my cup of tea, Anita likes them alot and I don't care at all for them. Larger sizes to me seem to be less of everything that I liked in the robusto.

Padron Anniverario 1964 in Maduro, no question in my mind.

Although the VSGs are nice I believe that the 64s are much better.

The Illusions are my favorite VSG, however, I do like the Principe Maddy's...It's a toss up for me, but I think you'll do fine with either one.

Cool Re: Ashton VSG vs Padron Anni. 64- Super Premium Face Off

I wouldn't consider either to be Super Premium (by a long shot), but I would have to go with the Padrons here.

Cant you buy both?

For me it would depend on time of year. Maduros in winter, not maduros in summer. So if I were buying to smoke now, PAM.

However, since I am a fuente whore, VSG, and Anejos for this time of year.

PAMs are good though. PANs arent bad either, i just prefer a maduro wrapper.

I really think that you are the person who would be best qualified to try both of these cigars, compare, and decide. No one else has your taste-buds, and you're the one who is going to be plunking down his money...

Padron 64 Maduro - Exclusivo

Only other stick which commands my attention equally would be an Anejo #55

Not taking anything away from the VSG/ESG line as I enjoy them too.
