Fuente Cigar Price Increase ???

Looks like a price increase may be coming within the next month or two.

If it's been several years it's understandable I guess, but will just make it worse here in CA. Off track, but the only hope is an upcoming proposition to remove cigars and pipe tobacco from the tobacco tax. It's believed that cigar and pipe smokers prevented the last huge tobacco tax proposition from passing, and that removing them is the only way to get it passed next time.

I won't mind if it is a nominal price hike. If it turns out to be drastic, there may be problems. I love me some Fuente's.

Well, I pay a lot in CA just like Bazooka said, so what is another couple of bucks? Shoot, Fuente increase with a tobacco tax removal... I'd still come out ahead!

I haven't done a search yet to find details - my B&M owner just happened to mention that word about it is floating around. He said that the proponents of separating cigars from cigarettes taxwise held off submitting the proposition so it wouldn't be drowned out by the big tax initiative we just dealt with, and now supporters of the tobacco tax are more likely to agree to it as the only way to get their cigarette tax through next time.

Would anything prevent them from putting the cigars and pipe tobacco back in to the tax hike at a later date ? Just curious .

I hope not. One of the reasons I like Fuente is that they have very competitive prices w/ C.A.O. and Padron... if they do increase, I guess I'll smoke them less.

Don't worry, its not very big at all. It barely keeps up with inflation.

Their do a price increase, holding steady for 4 years is an admirable feat.

It's still a fair bump compared to most companies - as much as 35-50 cents per stick retail.
