What cigar slang annoys you the most?

"gars"...A gar is a nasty freshwater fish.

"ISOM"....because I've never had one, and the term just serves as an annoying reminder of that fact!!!!!

However, I am booked for a business trip to Puerto Rico next week, and plan to remedy this situation right quick once I land!

Puerto Rico is US territory and is subject to the same laws as the CONUS, how is going there going to help you get your hands on Cuban cigars

Personally, I have an issue with BOTL - as I've stated before, I'm not a feminazi but I do have SOME feminist sensibilities and the term serves as a reminder that I'm an outsider.

My issue is about the term ISOM, but not the acronym itself. What gets my grammar-nazi self in a twist is when people refer to "Smoking an ISOM." How can you smoke the Island South of Miami?

One can argue, of course, that the use of ISOM as a term for a cigar has become accepted as a colloquialism, thus its use in that context would be correct. If that is the case (And whether it is or not is subjective,) then it would be correct to use ISOM as a term for a single cigar.

Never mind.

I can't stand the term Humi - for several reasons.

Cigar smoking is, in general, a rather masculine activity.... not to say that it is a man's activity, it's just more commonly associated with masculine things... The term Humi is anything but masculine, and in fact, sounds particularly juvenile.

this is EXACTLY what i was going to say, and have said it in another topic on here.

how can you smoke an ENTIRE ISLAND?

and, mainly, THERE IS NO LAW THAT KEEPS YOU FROM SAYING THE WORD OR WORDS "CUBA" OR "CUBAN". so, just say you're smoking a cuban cigar, not that difficult to do.

What gets my grammer goat is when people refer to an abbreviation as a acronym.
An Acronym is a pronounceable word formed from each of the first letters (or syllables) of a descriptive phrase. The key thing here being a pronounceable word. Acronyms & Abbreviations are different.

ISOM - In my opionion it is disrespectful to Cuba and it's people.

I also don't like the word herf. It sounds like puke, "ralph", vomit - which are the the last things that I think of when I think of cigars.

i voted for "ISOM", but i have to say that "gars" is pretty annoying as well.
