What is the relationship between Don Kiki and 5 Vegas?

I had my first Don Kiki (Green Label) today and was impressed. Good price/quality ratio.

I was reading an article about Mr "Don" (his real name is Henry Kiki Berger?) and he states that Don Kiki Red Label is the recreation of the classic 5 Vegas brand.

This statement confused me, because I like to buy 5 Vegas cigars and I assumed the cigars ACTUALLY NAMED 5 Vegas were the real 5 Vegas brand.

Or maybe there was a cuban version of 5 Vegas? If the Don Kiki brand is the recreation of the Cuban version, then where did the current 5 Vegas brand come from?

Does anybody know the story?

& I know some of you think 5 Vegas is a CigarsInternational house brand, but according to (www.5vegas.com) several internet wholesellers and at least one B&M carry this line.

Re: What is the relationship between Don Kiki and 5 Vegas?

As far as i know 5 vegas was rolled initially, but no longer, by Enrique “Kiki” Berger the owner of Cuban Crafters. His tobacco fields are located in Esteli in Nicaragua. Vegas de Tabaclera Esteli is his factory. Don kiki red is the present Kiki Berger rolled 5 Vegas Red. I might be wrong though

MasterShogun is correct. Kiki Berger made cigars for a lot of people at one time before he started creating his own lines. He created the Classic 5Vegas Red label which received high CA ratings. His Don Kiki Red label is the replica of the 5 Vegas red classic. I believe 5 Vegas are now being made out of the Aurora factory.
Don Kikis Green labels are good, especially for the money and especially when they have had some humi time. But his red label are much better than the green. And his brown labels are an excellent med/full bodied smoke.
However, even better than those are his Cuban Crafters Cabinet selection cigars; I recommend them highly.
