I would have mentioned Vegas de Santiago, although I found them very creamy they were also kind of green or grassy, might come off with soem time.

Add El Originals to your list. I have only tried some of the main line, but these were some powerful, flavorful sticks. Haven't tried the premium or bundle lines, but my impression is these guys are serious.

I like La Cacique de Miami, but I don't think these qualify, although they are marketed as Miami's favorite cigar.

Little Havana was full of little shops, you should make a trip if you're serious. One of the shops rolled me some short perfectos when I went to visit a couple years ago. I now hear about a local B & M that's ordering these direct/exclusive, could be the same shop~

Re: Micro-boutique cigars

The next installment in my little experiment (the 1st was a review of a Garo Symphonie IV) will be a Brazilian cigar called Caravelas. It is comprised of 100% Mata Fina tobaccos grown in the Bahia region of Brazil. A true puro. It will be interesting to see how they fare. I haven't recieved them yet, but hope to soon. The manufacturer graciously offered to send me a sampler, free of charge. PLEASE! Don't deluge this poor guy with requests for free cigars. They are available in a few smoke shops across the U.S. If they pass muster, then I will post sources, or it is possible to research many cigars with a net search.
Another cigar that I am excited about shall remain a secret until I feel safe enough to tell you voracious cigar sharks about it. I don't want to put blood in the water!
Til next time.

KH,

Such sacrifices you make for us... Sigh... my hero!

Sounds like a seriously fun task! Good luck!

Re: Micro-boutique cigars

The Caravelas just arrived today & I must say, they do look rich & tasty.

I will be reviewing the Bobalus 1st, however, as they have had some setup time in the humidor.

I have some Padillas on the way. I am very excited about this purchase.

Next month, I will be looking at Casillas, Conch Republic & probably Vegas De Santiago. Of course, my plans are always subject to change.

Please be looking for the reviews in the data base. I will be inserting links in the reviews, as part of this experiment's purpose is to create exposure for smaller manufacturers. Remember, many of the popular cigar companies of today were fledgling ventures 5 or 10 years ago.
