You know your obsessed when

There's a B&M down the road that although they carry a pretty decent collection of smokes, I refuse to buy from them. The reason being is because the few times I did go in there, their humidity was off the charts along with the temp of the walk in and not to mention that a bunch of the sticks were swelling from the high humidity and a bunch of smokes even had mold.
Well last night we got an alarm saying that multiple reports are coming in from smoke pushing out from the building. Sure enough we pull up and there was in fact fire. Fortunatly for the owner the fire was on the opposite side of his walk-in. We got the fire knocked down fairly quickly so there was minimal damage but after attending and taking care of my immediate duties I just had to take a look inside their walk-in after all was under control. The walk in was holding alot of smoke so I would probrably venture to say that the entire stock has to be effected in some way but as I was looking around I saw a bright ray of light coming from a locked cabinet humi like the heavens opened up. Waahhhhhhhhhh, Inside was a full box of Anejo #50s and all I could think at that point was too bad this place controls their walk-in like dog crap. Now most people would have been able to ignore the walk-in but I just had to look at all the ****, and the full box of Anejos was just the finisher. I did see a nice Zippo and torch insert that I may go back for when they get to open their doors again, and maybe I will try and nicely point out the error of their ways in humidity and temp control in a nice way. It's such a shame because they carry a decent selection of sticks.
So what are some of your tells that you are obsessed with this hobby of ours?

Re: You know your obsessed when

My credit card statement. But really, interesting story. Maybe if you go in there and talk to them, nicely, and let them know how they could improve and how that would improve thier buisness, they will cut you a deal or two. Throw some sticks your way or something. Burning down and rebuilding could be a good thing. In regards to the building and customer-buisness relations. Good luck. Oh, and another sign that we are all obsessed, look how much time we spend in this forum. We have an ever expanding website and we just never end~!

Re: You know your obsessed when

I recently spent just north of $40 on a God Of Fire that I will probably never smoke. I have 1 of my 5 humidors full of cigars that I like to have in my collection so much, it will take something ridiculously special to actually bust one out and smoke. I will easily justify spending $10 - $20 or so dollars on a good cigar (and quite a bit on good bourbon for that matter), but I think spending $15 - $20 on a CD or DVD is way too high. I shutter to spend $150 for a digital camera. As far as household goods or “necessities” I am pretty frugal when spending money, but there is always a great reason when I need to treat myself to a good cigar (I work hard, it’s been a long week, this is so rare I have to have it – I won’t be able to get one of these ever again, etc., etc.). I have an entire table in my living room with nothing but humidors, the smallest holds 100. I will drop cash on a box of cigars or that “great” lighter, humidor, new cutter, but my TV is an old huge black 36” that is not even a flat screen, much less flat panel because the picture is fine. The owners of my local B&M’s know me by name, greet me with a huge smile and show off the new stuff – the top of the line stuff because they know I’m a sucker and can’t resist, and I think that I bought at least one of them a houseboat. They may know more about me than my girlfriend. If one of my friends gets the new issue of a popular cigar magazine before I do, I check the mail everyday until it arrives, like I’m waiting for lottery winnings. Oh and it’s Saturday night and I’m on here typing about my cigar obsession because I needed a night to kick back without the girl. I don’t think it’s an obsession, I like to think that I am an avid collector with a great hobby. And as long as I keep telling myself that, and there are others like all of the great people here on CS I think it’s just fine.

It's gotten to the point where my credit card is being decline due to high usage In a way that is a good thing because that will curb my spending. I'm on CS even at work and sometimes I forget what I'm doing at work :s

You get out of bed in the middle of the night to check your humidors after dreaming the RH had dropped to 12%.

You walk around from room to room, humi to humi with a clip boared, for 2,3 hours, inspecting your smokes and percentages like a NASA engineer

Re: You know your obsessed when

I have had what I think is a problem keeping the humidity up on a 100 humi of mine. I bought some beads to see if that would help and now I'm looking at the hygrometer every morning and evening to see if the humidity is where it should be. And, oh yes, I'm on CS every spare minute of my time.

Yep, once you start mixing NASA and cigars, I believe the level of obsession has been reached, and likely there is no chance of turning back. You're hooked.
