Csonka air cleaners

A friend of mines uses this in his cigar shop and swears by it. His is the small unit that retails for about $250. Any input would be helpful. Frank B

Re: Csonka air cleaners

I am on my 2nd Csonka....The 1st one started acting funny (fan started making noise) about 2 weeks before the expiration of the original 1 yr warranty. I called the Company (based in NJ) and told them of the problem I was having - they gave me a Return Number and told me to write it outside the box and ship the unit back to them.

The next day - the UPS man rings the bell with my replacement unit !!!!!!! I didn't even get the one that I was returning into a box yet ----these guys BELIEVE and PRACTICE great Customer Service.

Now, as to how they work ---these units are awesome !!! I regularly smoke inside the house and have had Herfs at our place with a collection of guys smoking as we watched some game on TV -----walk in the room 30 minutes later ---and no one would believe that there were cigars smoked in there ! The Csonka units are advertised as being able to handle 3000+ sq feet of living space.

I'm not sure as to the CS policy of naming a retail site where you can pick these up much cheaper then the Mfg Suggested Retail Price --- but drop me a PM or email and I will gladly forward you the details.

Thanks for the heads up. Does the Csonka get smoke out of curtains and sheets?

Re: Csonka air cleaners

Yes - it works as an ionizer so it diffuses hundreds of millions of ions into the air that work to "neutralize" the odors sucked up by material - like sheets and curtains. Some of the models have adjustment levels so you don't feel like you're walking into a room that just had a thunderstorm rip through it with and the mild lingering "after taste" of an electrical storm activity.

We have had visitors to the house tell us that the air always smells so "clean" - and this is in rooms that see regular cigar smoking practiced in them.

Re: Csonka air cleaners

I have thought of getting one, but it is only myself and my daughter living in the house.

Sometimes she complains about the cigar smell. But I just tell her that when she starts making the mortgage payments she can tell me to go outside on the deck!

Re: Csonka air cleaners

So with this thing could I sit in my office with the door closed and smoke a cigar and when my wife gets home she will not notice?

If so, I have got to get one. Sitting outside in the wind sucks.

Sitting outside in the snow isn't fun either.
