Going to Vegas, first time on a plane. Help.
Ok, so the woman is finally forcing me to go with on a trip we need to take for our business. I've been able to dodge the bullet for years with the, "how are we supposed to make any money if we have to close the store becuase we both go" excuse.
But its not flying this time. She always goes with her sister and brother in law, but she's not having me stay out of it this time. I'm 26. Never been on a plane. scared to death. i mean, i've been other states, and Canada. In a car. Aside from that, the only thing that i'm really looking forward to is Casa Fuente. We called them and ended up finding out our Hotel is 2 blocks away. We're leaving thursday morning, coming back saturday. i know that we'll be at the Expo ALL DAY, but probably get out about 8ish. I would like to try and come up with some sort of plan so we can squeeze in the place, but make it fun for all 4 of us. I have a couple of newbie traveling questions if you all dont mind: 1) Does casa fuente have live music? What time do they stay open until? 2) how about the Davidoff store? is it just a store, or like a bar too? 3) How ass raped am i looking at for some fuente smokes here? I dont go for the Opus X, but i love me some Anejo's! I'd like to try their signature stick too. 4) Whats the deal with taking lighters on planes? Shall i just leave my Dupont at home? PLEASE! any advice that you guys can give me to make this a more bearable experience is MUCH appreciated!

The first take off may make ya a lil nervous, after the first one it has always been fun for me. Check the forecast, if you got clear skies across the board you shouldn't run into many bumps and it should be a pretty enjoyable flight. Bring gum to chew though for when your ears pop

Taking off the 1st time isn't bad... its the 1st landing that is hairy. Don't wait until the flight to drink. Do it at a airport bar, that way you're half in the bag before takeoff. Flying is a piece of cake, once your up in air it is smooth sailing. Dont bring lighter.

So they still have airport bars? i never get to see any of that these days. everytime i drop off anyone at the airport, unless you're flying, you cant get past baggage check.
So dont bring the lighter? damn it.

Re: Going to Vegas, first time on a plane. Help.
I realize that these stats never really help but here goes....
Always keep in mind that you have an ASTRONOMICALLY greater chance of getting hurt in your car on the drive to the airport than actually getting into a plane crash. Have a beer, bring an ipod (or whatever you might have), and realize that every sound you will hear on the flight is perfectly normal. I have been traveling for thirty years on planes, and I'm still here to type this note. You'll be fine! ![]()

that said, your questions, 1. they did not have live music while i was there, there is music playing in the mall however, the store itself is not that huge and you can smoke outside or at the bar there, they do have a very good mojito though. taken from their site: Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 10 a.m. - 11 p.m. Friday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 12 a.m. 2. i unfortunately just walked past it, not a big davidoff fan, i was going to swing back and walk in but i ran out of time. looks like it was just a store but at a glance i regret not going inside. 3. bring lube, if you REALLY want the smoke expect to pay a premium, some say its better than "vegas prices" but its still very high. the only thing i picked up was a don carlos lancero that actually interested me, and an ashtray. they did have some pretty neat cigars to oogle at but no way in hell was i going to pay those prices for those cigars. 4. i didn't risk bringing my lighter, it seems that the regs for lighters keep going back and forth so to hell with it. i just used matches at the bar or that i picked up at casa fuente. also, you can pick up a cheap cheesy torch lighter and just throw it away when you leave. there are tons of souvenir/gift shops around to pick one up. Leave the Lighter. Sit on an Aisle.
Sit on the aisle. Sit in the interior section if you are flying a widebody. If you are in a widebody, the center section feels almost like a living room. Distract yourself: watch the movie, read, sleep. Don't look out the window until/unless you are comfortable. Sit on the wing, close the window shade. And, yes, Drink early, drink often.

Re: Going to Vegas, first time on a plane. Help.
Casa has been doing a DJ on Thursday nights for a while, but other than that, they don’t have that much space
Davidoffs are just stores, there are several around town (I'm guessing you mean the one in the Venetian), good size stores for a mall All cigar prices in Vegas are high in the tourist areas. Check out Moki's website for Casa prices, last time there I saw Chili Peppers for $80, I think the Opus A was in the $40 per stick range
