Gran Habanos #5 Robusto

The Gran Habanos #5 Robusto Corojo Honduran has been getting rave reviews all the way around, including our own Top25 site... sooooo, I was wondering if anybody can link me up to a retailer who has these at a fair price? I'm having a heck of a time locating them. Thanks!

PS Has anybody tried these yet? LMK your thoughts on these. I really have no idea other than a lot of favorable write ups. Thanks rns

Re: Gran Habanos #5 Robusto

Appearance and Construction: 15/15

Appearance: A rich and oily, dark brown wrapper with an intense, solid, very dense feel.
Construction: Solid all around construction with a triple cap and an even burn the entire way down. A slow but beautiful draw.

Flavor and Body: 22/25

While warming the foot I noticed an almost smoky citrus aroma with a bit of spice at the first couple draws. Prominent woods with a creamy aftertaste. Medium to Full flavor with a subtle full body which progressively builds, and hits you at the end. Not many new characteristics developed as I smoked this cigar. A consistent Robust flavor with a rich aroma.

Smoking Characteristics: 23/25

A slow draw to start and a slow burn the entire way down, this cigar requires some time. The even burn was consistent with a light grey to white ash that wouldn’t budge and had to be pulled off every inch or so. Nice thick, woodsy smoke with very subtle spice. This cigar had an almost silent power that snuck up on me at the end, developing into a bold full-bodied smoke. Solid and heavy the whole way through.

Overall Impression: 30/35

The pre-light aroma reminded me of a damp log. The heavy feel, firm to the touch, and oily wrapper made me anxious to light this one up. This could easily set the standard for what a Corojo should taste like. A solid smoke from beginning to end with the only surprise being an unexpected punch at the end, which stays with you a while after you’re done. Give this cigar a good hour and a half. Not too many flavors developed, keeping this a fairly simple and consistent cigar. What you start with is pretty much what you get with the exception of body.

Overall Rating 90/100

Re: Gran Habanos #5 Robusto

I'm not sure what happened to my samples, but the boys at Gran habanos gave me some samples to try, and they have been awful. I am going to chalk this up to bad samples from the RTDA. But I am talking butt nasty!

Anyone have any input on the #3's? I won a box on c-bid this week & am wondering if I'm gonna like em.

I had my first #5 the other day and it was very good. I think there is one in the Labor Day Box Pass if anyone wants to try one.

Smoked another #5 last night at my 80yr. old father in laws' Margarita Party, and it complemented the "Frozen Concoctions" quite famously...and he complained about it all night, and that made it taste all that much better

Hey pds do you have any contact info for the Good Ole Boys at Gran Habanos Tabacaleras?...sounds to me like you got a bad sample cause I've smoked 5 GH sticks in the last 2 wks.from 2 different sources and all 5 were primo, even for cigars that cost twice as much!

You didn't happen to store them in your suitcase with your dirty socks and underwear did you? The ones I've had were just excellent. In fact, I had one tonight
