My dad has for the past 55.
Both of us born and raised there for years.
Anyone that thinks that ISOMs are better than the Padron Anniversary 64, '26 or 40th really has questionable taste.
By far, the Padron Anniversary line is the finest in the world.
Jose Padron and his sons are Cubans that came to America clearly seeking to make the best possible cigar and they have suceeded. Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider agree. No ISOM brand can boast so many cigars consistently rated over 90.
I would trade any of my high end ISOMs (Siglo VI, Sublimes, RA Belicosos, etc) anyday for any anniversary.
As a matter of fact, send me anniversaries and will send you any ISOM you want.
Forget the price. If you can handle it, enjoy the finest available to man.
if i had any of those, they'd be in an overnight express box headed your way.

and for you to say that ANYONE who thinks cuban cigars are better than padrons has questionable taste, that's just a moronic statement on your behalf.

you can have 'em.

cigar aficionado and all those other mags are full of when it comes to ratings, as we all know.

if it were true, then Te-Amo's would also be far better than cubans, right? after all, CA said it, right??

whatthe****ever...

Re: Are they worth it???

Sublimes don't come in glass boxes.
No real Cohiba does.

The trade part is more figurative than actual.
I have an account with Padron that I have had for over 15 yrs.
I go directly to their office in Miami and get as many boxes as I care for.
Always maintain a supply of Monarcas, Diplomaticos and Pyramides and Maduro a must.

For clarification, the ISOMs are in fact excellent smokes and I pay quite a bit for the most expensive ones. Most of my full boxes are Siglo VI and Subilmes which are quite pricy for the average person. However, when it comes to ISOMs, the fact is you will always find a less than favorable one here and there. That is evidenced by the many threads on this site that seem to echo that thought. I have yet to ever, since they were introduced, find an Anniversary that did not burn perfectly and was not a spectacular smoke. Whether anyone cares to agree or not, that is not something that can be said about ISOMs. I echo the thought of who cares what CA and CI say. They don't rule us and their tastes don't have to coincide with yours or mine. I just happen to totally agree with their review as far as Anniversaries. My opinion. Still possible in this great land of ours called America.

IHT - no bias on your part i suspect?

For clarification, the ISOMs are in fact excellent smokes and I pay quite a bit for the most expensive ones.
IHT - good for you, you're my hero.

Most of my full boxes are Siglo VI and Subilmes which are quite pricy for the average person.
IHT - good to know we're just average around here. i figured they were pricey for everyone?

However, when it comes to ISOMs, the fact is you will always find a less than favorable one here and there. That is evidenced by the many threads on this site that seem to echo that thought. I have yet to ever, since they were introduced, find an Anniversary that did not burn perfectly and was not a spectacular smoke.
IHT - a photo below blows that theory right out of the water. and my review i posted (somewhere) of the '26 does as well. coppertop had one the same time i did, gifted by a generous BOTL who loves them.

Whether anyone cares to agree or not, that is not something that can be said about ISOMs. My opinion. Still possible in this great land of ours called America.
IHT - of course your opinion matters, but when you make some dumbass statement about OTHER PEOPLES TASTES, that's where YOUR OPINION IS WRONG.
some comments in the quote...
and i only have "anger issues" when i read some snobby crap like you're posting.

here's a photo of your prized PADRON ANNI'S burning like .

never did i say they sucked though, i actually like the 64s for a non-cuban smoke. i just find your comment, "Anyone that thinks that ISOMs are better than the Padron Anniversary 64, '26 or 40th really has questionable taste." to be so fuggin full of crap, it's unbelievable.

now, go on about us "average people" here.... you're clearly the upper crust of society.

here's a question though....
if you would take a padron anni (any series) over ANY cuban cigar, and you have had an account there for 15 yrs and can get ANY fuggin padron you want....
WHY DO YOU BOTHER WITH CUBAN CIGARS??

i mean, they're the best, so why bother with inferior smokes and the trouble it takes to get them?
why does your profile list the Siglo VI as your favorite smoke?

Re: Are they worth it???

nicely put Greg.

Blueface, many of us will have "anger issues" when our alarm is ringing. I smoke mostly nc, but do enjoy an occasional cuban cigar. I have also had several PAN / PAM's. While a pretty good cigar they are way overpriced. If I am going to spend that kind of money on a smoke, there's only one island it will be coming from. Gilligan's Island.

I can send you 5 Padron 1964 Annis, and you will send me 5 Cohiba Sublimes?
Think I can handle that trade. PM me if you wanna work it out.

Sorry Tom, I don't think he really meant it. The size of his "collection" is probably more figurative than actual as well.

Re: Are they worth it???

Funny thing is blueface has cohiba siglio VI listed as his favorite cigar

Anyhow, imho they are not worth the price tag. The standard X000 line is my goto n/c smoke definetly. But the 64's and 26's cost to much money for what you get.

Re: Are they worth it???

hey, lets not give blueface a hard time, he's just voicing his opinion, which i don't agree with, but that doesn't mean i'm right either (which is often the case)..

sorry, blue. everyones tastes are different, everyone has differing opinions on all the cigars out there... ours are just different.

have a good smoke this weekend, curse my name a few times if that'll make you feel better...

later ppl. i think i'll smoke a CAO tonight.
(of the 20+ cigars i brought on this trip, only 4 or so were cuban - blows that "cuban cigar snob" crap outta the water too, don't it?)
