Re: Are they worth it???

I have questionable taste.. I don't care for any padron's, except maybe the Fuma's.. LOL. I prefer ERDM or Torano's over Padron's. I did have my first Opus X at the last Richmond herf and just LOVED it!!

But I do love the creaminess of the cuban's for sure!! Our day's of purchasing them have only just begun.

Just for the record, I've actually been a witness to Greg and Mike smoking domestics. Greg had a 5 Vega and I don't remember what Mike smoked. I was too busy laughing at the conversations.

By far, the Padron Anniversary line is the finest in the world.
Jose Padron and his sons are Cubans that came to America clearly seeking to make the best possible cigar and they have suceeded. Cigar Aficionado and Cigar Insider agree. No ISOM brand can boast so many cigars consistently rated over 90.
I would trade any of my high end ISOMs (Siglo VI, Sublimes, RA Belicosos, etc) anyday for any anniversary.
As a matter of fact, send me anniversaries and will send you any ISOM you want.
Forget the price. If you can handle it, enjoy the finest available to man.
I've never smoked an ISOM, but I have smoked a few Cubans.

To say that somebody else has questionable taste because of what cigars they prefer is complete and utter doo-doo. I find that attitude unsufferable. People smoke what they like, can afford and get their hands on.

I'd rather herf with a crew smoking white owls than anybody smoking Cuban Davidoffs with that attitude.

You like Padrons and think they are the best in the world, thats just great. Really. But don't think for a second that you have better taste than somebody smoking Ramon Allones, Vegas Robaina or Bolivar habanos because you don't. Padron anny smokes are overpriced and decidedly mediocre compared to the best Cuba has produced in the past few years. That is my opinion. But I'm not going to be an arrogant POS by telling you that you "really have questionable taste" if you disagree.

Re: Are they worth it???

Nope, not worth the price their asking. I do have three or four in the humi but now wish I would have saved my money. I"ll keep them, and let them rest and see if in 6-8 months they get better. Their taste just isn't my cup of tea......but Hey what do I know, I"ve got "questionable taste" anyway because I would rather have several brands of cuban cigars in stead of these???

Re: Are they worth it???

IHT,
I read you wrong.
You are OK in my book.
No harm on either side.
I certainly appreciate your last post.
I truly respect your opinion and that of any other BOTL.

To address other threads here, love the fact that a statement of opinion on my part or yours can cause yet so many other opinions. Isn't most of this site about opinions, good, bad or indifferent? When someone says a Cohiba Siglo VI sucks, should I be upset since I have never had a bad one?
When I said "questionable taste" what exactly did that mean?
I am not saying "poor" taste. I think a few folks need to lighten up here as they are clearly taking this stuff too serious. Serious is to go smoke a stick, not bitch at each other.
I am expressing my opinion in a polite manner.

Great observations by some on this thread.
My favorite is in fact the Siglo VI with a very close tie on the Sublime with an equal tie on the Padron. Padrons are Cuban seed rolled by a Cuban family that has quite a tradition in the art of making sticks. Only thing missing is a big factor called Vuelta Abajo.

I have four full boxes of Siglo VI to go along with 3 full Sublimes. I have 23 other boxes of Cubans, to include the new RA Beli Finos and the Partagas Serie P #2 (See photos posted on this site under Cuban Cigars). For someone to take a cheap shot to question what I own, not knowing anything about me, purely as an un-invited attack, is ridiculous.
I love Cuban cigars.
I am Cuban.
To love cigars is in my blood.
That is not what I was talking about.
What I was in fact talking about is I still feel very strongly that although Cuba clearly has the best cigars in the world, there are quite a few "bad" Cuban sticks out there and in contrast, the same cannot be said about the Anniversary. The Anniversary has always been an extraordinarily consistent cigar for me (MY OPINION).

I really thought this site was about a group of folks with a similar passion who offer opinions and assit one another through the various threads. I had run into a few bitch sessions as I read through some threads but never thought I would be caught up in one. I guess I had this site all wrong. It now appears to me to be about making sure you have an opinion that fits that of the reader of the thread. If your opinion differs from a specific reader, a bitch session commences as respect for someone that nothing is known about is not warranted.

Re: Are they worth it???

Damn this was starting to get interesting, now everybody is kissin.

As usual I'm kidding. Whats kewl is how in the long run we tend to kiss and make up and to realize that we're here for the fellowship and to share common experiences with the plant we're all so fond of. Its an education for me, at least on human nature and other stuff. For the most part I retain certain pieces of knowledge from each and everyone of you, especially those large breasted norski gals.

Annies (Especially the 26 line) to me are better/different than most fresh cubans. A fresh PSD4 that's on vs a 26 # 6 NAT to me is not a "which is better" but a what are you jonesn for.

My limited categorization puts Annies, some greycliffs, and a few other dom favorites in the as good/want more than a Cuban today category.

A good aged cuban fuggettaboutit. No contest.

IHT - it is, i probably started it all by reading "into" your remark and taking you for a bragging type of guy.

I had run into a few bitch sessions as I read through some threads but never thought I would be caught up in one.
IHT - same here. i'm so laid back in person, it's kinda funny to me that ppl think i'm some kind of hardcore jerk... but, although i'm laid back, i don't back down... so, i tend to get into some flare ups.

I guess I had this site all wrong.
IHT - no, i think you had it right the first time.

It now appears to me to be about making sure you have an opinion that fits that of the reader of the thread. If your opinion differs from a specific reader, a bitch session commences as respect for someone that nothing is known about is not warranted.
IHT - nah, i don't think it's that way in regards to cigars... your first comments were a little more to the extreme (or what i read into them) than your last one... to me, it came off like nothing is better than a padron anni, and anyone who says different has bad taste buds.
but i don't have a problem if someone doesn't like a cigar i like. hell, i love punch punch's, but can't stand Mag46s. others are vice versa... i don't like cuban cohibas either (taste like grassy/hay to me), others think there's nothing better, that they're the pinnacle...
comments in the quote.

i'm here to talk about cigars and other crap out there... after you explained what you meant in your first post, i see what you're saying.
