A Strange Tobacco device tested out (pictures!)

My local B&M kinda sucks... besides having Padron Annis (i know, thats plenty right there!) they have nothing and to make things worse they are half a "head" shop (or lets just say ALL around tobacco supply store...).

So today, (while grabbing a few PAN '64 Pyramids) i spotted these strange rollng 'papers' on display. Theres nothing paper about them, they are 100% natural, made from Plant Cellulose
Dubbed "Glass" clear rolling papers and made by LUXE, i boought a pack of 40 sheets for 4.99 (ill give the rest to Ol James hehehe )

the process!! Im not a big pipe guy, i dabbled and ended up with a nice setup for when "im ready" to add to this crazy hobby. I also dont smoke cigarettes or live in England, so my rolling skills are worse then a politicians (...or not?)

1. the pipe humi! its a CAO Cx2 50 count... it holds my 8-10 tin collection of Dunhill, Davidoff, CAO, Peterson & Ashton pipe tobaccos. I have a Meer and Peterson Churchwarden (I love scratching the beard with my wizard pipes!)

2. Preparing! I selected the CAO tin "Midnight Ride" a smoke comemerating Paul Reveres great ride. its made from Oriental, Cyprian Latakia, and a touch of Perique tobaccos. Here i prepare to roll it up...I will say the cellulose reacts to saliva very well and made rolling managable

3. Rolling complete... i got through it! the glass sheets were plyable and easily self adhisive. they had no taste when i gave it a tounge swipe- but will they taste plasticy during the burn?

4. Sparky Sparky! The light was uneven at first (damn torcedor) but quickly caught up. It definitely tasted good and was 100,000% unaffected by the cellulose. You could clearly see the smoke flowing through the tobacco which was the reward in the end, mesmerizing. Tasted great, everytime i smoke a pipe (or taste pipe tobac in this case) i wonder why i dont more often... (cigars.) very simple and cool experience, thanks for allowing me to share apes!

little post script, i know this isnt Cigar or Pipe related but considering, i figured its a little of both with a dash f not-at-all! hence the main lounge, its all visual baby!

Thanks for sharing. Never thought of rolling my pipe tobaccy. Might give it a shot now that i could see what happening in the "stick" if i get those. Thanks for the pics.

p.s. - i had something better to say but after a 12 hour day, my brain just don't work right.

Pretty durn cool seeing it go through the cellulose.

Disregarding their intended use, some of those handblown glass pieces are definitely works of art.

hmmm... thinking about it, i may be the only single human to stuff actual tobacco into a rolling paper (in America). Okay, okay, at least into a clear 'paper'

...and good call Steven, they may make wonderful cigar band-aids, theres no "glue strip" as the whole sheet reacts to saliva, so cutting and wetting a small patch sounds more then resonable
