Sancho Panza

Anyone done a verticle tasting of the Sancho line? This is one cigar that really intrigues me, but i can never seem to get my hands on. I always thought it would be interesting to go from regular, to DM, to extra fuerte in one night to see how the blend and characteristics change. Or if anyone has a couple sticks of each they would be willing to sell, id be more then happy to take them off your hands. Thanks for all the help!!

Re: Sancho Panza

I didn't do it in the same night, but in consecutive nights. I found a 3 pack sampler, one from each line. I actually preferred the regular line over both of the otheres, but the extra fuerte was a very good smoke. I have had the regular on several occasions but that was the first I had of the extra fuerte line. I think I need to sample a few more of them to get a good feel.

Are you speaking of the nice little red and gold painted cedar box containing 1 each of the Valiente, Quixote, and Pamplona? I picked one of those up for about 7 bucks. Only smoked one of them so far...nice spicy little thing it was.

Re: Sancho Panza

I bought a local dealer out of the sampler packs The store gives employees of my company 10% off; they are within walking distance of our HQ. The store had the boxes for $6.50 and then I got another $0.65 off. I have already sent out 5 of them in trades and have 3 left.

I have also used 2 of the empty boxes to ship out other robusto sized trades in. Nice thing about the box is it will fit into the VHS sized shipper from the post office and you can send 3 5x50 cigars well protected and add padding and lots of tape and still end up @ the base Priority Mail rate. The post office's click-n-ship makes it soo easy, can fit several boxes in the mailbox and skip the trip to the post office.

Enough about the box though; I LOVE the double maduro Quixote. After trying my first one of those I bought a box ($42/20 shipped from JR). It has a whole lot of favor but isn't too strong. The natural version is very nice with a good amount of black pepper flavor. The extra fuerte has Jalapeno pepper flavor that starts out a bit strong for me but 1/2" down its wonderful from then on. I suspect I will buy another box of each of the varieties because there just aren't many $2 cigars that can compete with them IMO.

Re: Sancho Panza

Haven't tried the EF yet, but am waiting with great anticipation. I'll get it in the rotation soon enough.

So many cigars.....so little time.

Re: Sancho Panza

I like the regular line the best. I have not tried them all in the same night but tried them all. I am not a great fan of Sancho Panza though.

That's the one. I enjoyed all of them, but I just like the regular the best. That was a nice little sampler box. I haven't seen that setup since.

Re: Sancho Panza

ive had all 3 but not back to back. the original sancho panza and each subsequent line extension are different enough from each other to be interesting, the price is right and they all have a good to very good flavor.
